Hive Sight is the collective term for the "connection" between aliens, the Hives, and each other.  In its most basic form:
    1) Aliens see other aliens and the hives through walls, as white glowing rings.
    2) Any building or alien that comes under attack shows up as a red glowing ring - its name and location appear as well (e.g. Fam is under attack - Marine Start).
    3) Any marine or marine building visible to another alien shows up as an orange blob.
    4) Any parasited marine or marine building shows up as an orange blob.

The sensory chamber provides an upgrade called "Scent of Fear."  This marks any wounded marine with a deep orange/red sprite, whether he is visible or not.

The aliens also have a "flashlight" which makes any alien or alien structure show up *very* brightly, allowing them to be clearly seen even in dark rooms.  A sensory chamber upgrade called "Enhanced Hive Sight" will upgrade this "flashlight," making marines glow the same way when the flashlight is on.

I am no PT nor am I a Dev, though I understand how it is worked, keep in mind that something may be wrong and that all things are STC.

    1) The alien flashlight key will turn on the hivesight, you start with this.  It highlights your allies (and buildings I think too) so that they are easy to see.  There is an upgrade for 3 hives (I think it's 3 at least) that allows the hivesight to highlight marines as well.  Through walls the aliens appear as a certain colored sprite, and marines show up as another color.

    2) Huh..?

All aliens have some degree of hive sight all the time, this basic level indicates the locations of other aliens, hives, parisited marines and marines that other aliens can see.  Smokey blobs of various colours are used to indicate the various hive sight elements.

Aliens can also toggle on a hi-visibility mode using their flashlight key.  The hi-visibility mode makes all alien team stuff appear to glow.

Their are two upgrades that aliens can choose to buy that enchance their sences.  Enchanced hive sight, adds marines to basic hivesight, even if they are not in sight.  Scent of fear indicates how injured a marine is.  These upgrade can only be bought once a sensory chamber has been built.

hmm... how about if a whole bunch of alien teammates are in contact with the enemy? (assault on marine base) Is your screen spammed with many many glowing rings?  Is there an option to bring up/make disappear the rings?  Seems to me it'd get complicated with 25 rings on your screen (hurt marines, spotted marines, spotted marine buildings, aliens, alien buildings)

How does Scent of Fear change between having one, two, or three sensory chambers?  What about Enchanced Hive Sight?

    Thanks.

wind, it basicaly works like a Wall hack, if one person sees it every one sees it

also the spots are aparently not that bright and the use of the flash light makes them realy vizable

Honestly, I'm not sure how Scent of Fear changes between upgrades.  ^^  I don't use it often, and usually have 3 chambers.

Enhanced Hive Sight makes the marine *brighter* with more chambers.  In fact, it can be a detriment at low levels, since it makes the marine transparent - he can then be hard to see in dark rooms.  However, marines are *very* visible with level3 EHS.

The spots are not intrusive; sometimes you *will* see a lot, especially if your team has been parasiting a lot of buildings.  But they don't get in the way.  Also flashlight does not affect hive sight sprites - they are always the same intensity.  They get smaller with distance.

wait a sec? I though Flight made things show up brighter? (you said so man) bah /me cunfozored again

No, he said the flashlight makes aliens and alien buildings show up brighter, not marines or marine buildings.  Enchanced Hive Sight extends to the marines.
