Erm anyway, Good luck Last. These things can be tough, but if you work at it real hard, and create a system of goals to provide motivation then you can do it. To fight an addiction, you have to find a way to plan long term and short term. In the long run your goal is cutting out NS till your grades improve. In the short run, you must make several way points-so to speak, that will reward you and keep you from turning around and starting up again till your grades are better.
A moving story, seriously. I felt this way too at somepoint, it felt like homework were just stacking and my grades started to go down because i didnt do my homework, played ns instead, then i just stopped playing for about 2 months. Didnt say anything to anyone, just... didnt play.
After those 2 months without any internet games, i tried ns again to see if its still fun... i got hooked again. Maybe even more than i was before, but i realized too that ns is supposed to be fun, not something that needs to be taken too seriously. Probably the thing i missed most were the people, all my ns friends and clan mates.
Sorry to hear you go Last. I've played with you before, and in the clan scene and such, but I didn't really know you. I've come really close to making the same mistake you made myself. I'm glad you caught it before it screwed you over too badly. Your post reminded me that I have physics project to do and a book to read. All due tomorrow. Thanks everyone who's given me advice. I know I need to moderate my playing more, but it's really hard for me sometimes. Reading some of your replies has brought me back to earth and made me feel like I can balance my hobbies and work. Thanks ^_^.

We've encountered this problem before in our clan and came to the same conclusion: games are not real life. All it takes is the realization that you've let a game become so important to you and what really matters is suffering because of it. Games are good for getting away from reality (among many other things), but we do have to come back to earth every now and then. Once again... "Moderation is key."

NS won't be around forever, and just as well. We move from one game to the next continuously (unless we resign ourselves from gaming), its just hard to notice sometimes because those changes can take years. While I can't relate to your drop in grades, Last, I do agree that sometimes you have to hang it up for awhile. Clanning and Competition isn't for everyone. For those of us with erratic and hectic schedules, Pubs are more to us than the brothel some of the more l337 clans call them. Hanging it up isn't a sign of weakness or deficiency, but just something inside that wants more, and taking the first step to do something better. It's strange that I thought you had gone to sleep last night, but now I see that after called it a night, the wheels of fate started to turn. We'll miss you at '';aM;'', but do what you have to do, and maybe we'll still be around, maybe we won't - but when its all said and done, at least you had fun, right? Otherwise taking responsability for your lack of focus is a good first step, good luck in school.
