<div class="IPBDescription">Gt corridor.</div>Some pics of the GT corridor Hive. THe r_speeds are a bit high (700 in some places) but i like the look it has. maybe i'll add some water or something like that in the bottom part.

    -What im going to say now is just posted here, actually when looking at those pics again it has nothing to do with your room. It looks fine.-

    However, what i dislike (its not your map, a lot of maps have this) is that the hive rooms are so infested that all the detail is removed from the room. The way i see it infestation grows INSIDE the room, not ON it... (this is just my opinion and interpretation.

    I think the best approach to make a hive room is just make a normal 'clean' room, then retexturing the 'clean' textures with infestation on them. This keeps all the detail and shows the room it was before the hive was built.

    However, this is no critizism on your way of mapping, just my interpretation. I like your room, and i think its cool-dont take what i said as an insult or something, i just had to say this once...</span></span>

    I really like it. You might want to do something about the washed out color when you take your screenies, but I'm not sure what. You may want to make the red lights a bit less red. They contrast too much.

    [Shuvit.Viper], in fact, this room was first a normal room with its lighting, door, pipes, and then i transformed it with the infestation stuff. I first did a "not so infested" version, but it just didnt look that cool. It had the infestation thing on the floors but the normal walls and such were there, it looked nice but at the same time it didnt give the impression of "infested". I think youre right with the idea. but this room in particular is a bit small, so i had to cut some detailed things it had to add the infestation. (i erased some pipes and lightings)

    i don't agree with shut viper. not totally. i think is good to build a normal room and then infest(except if u're inspired and u know how to build the room immediately infested)but i think that just re-texture is not good.
    all would seem flat, while is beauty to see the contrast between the regular flat walls/floors/ceilings of the marine spwan on the irregular and dark hive locations.
    so i say: continue like this blue! u're improving ur tecnique time by time,compile after compile <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
    (and also maps like Hera have infestation build in this way)

    Actually, a *really* great thing about this hive is that it will be hard for marines to hold on to.  Marines can only build structures on flat, dry ground - water or slopes (e.g. from infestation) will prevent them from setting up a minibase.  I do agree that the infestation is a little severe, on the walls in particular... probably mostly because of the door - the doorframe is the proper shape, and the door itself is completely clean.

    I might suggest infesting the door and leaving it open, or perhaps "breaking" it (NS_Nancy uses broken doors to great effect).  Also, it's possible that the corners of the room furthest from the hive *haven't* been infested, or at least not as completely as the other areas.   Play with it a bit.

    Sweet! I love the colors and abundance of infestation. I agree with Tycho that the red should be a little less harsh, but other than that it looks really wonderful.

    I've always felt that hive rooms should have a "majestic" feel to them, and your use of colored lighting here really brings that feeling out.

    1) can marines build on flat infested ground?
    2) can aliens build on tilted infested ground?
    3) can aliens build on non-infested ground?

    for wut i know, you cannot construct on angled floor, which means that marines and aliens only can cosntruct in the edge of the hive (in the pics) not in the angled growing infestation.

    i dont remember exactly if you cant also construct on water. PTs tell us?

    Also, i really don´t know if the resource tower can be built on such a small place like there......

    That looks very good.  I just hope that my 'hive room with pipes' won't look too similar.

    One thing I have to tell you, though, is that there will be a problem with the resource nozzle on that small of a platform.  The legs of the resource towers won't fit, and it will look like they're floating.

    Oh, and you can construct on slopes that are less than 45 degrees, and aliens can build in water, but it is difficult or impossible for the marine commander to place buildings in water.

    I think the room's got the perfect level of infestation, actually. You can see the metal junk there, the support beams on the walls, parts of the metal floor, etc., but they're still utterly overgrown with alien life. The infestation in this room is just that: an infestation. I love it.
