... on almost all ns servers
I was just on a server like 5 or so minutes ago and guess what, round starts, somebody puts up sensory, everyone complains.
The person who put up the sensory should of asked what people wanted beforehand, I agree with that, but what I DON'T agree with is HOW people are reacting to this. This is why I made this topic and I want this behavior to stop.
An admin on the server banned the guy for doing this, not only that, he swore to keep his IP and ban him on every server he and his friends have and to tell any admin it if he sees him playing on another server. A little much, don't you think.
I am dead tired of seeing this over-reaction everytime someone puts down a sensory. I understand the whining and so forth isn't going to stop, but banning is a little extreme.
Is putting a sensory down first really such a crime? Must the game be so regiment every time we play?
Everyone say one word together... Diversity.
I have come to enjoy the games that put sensory down first more and more because it makes the game different each and every time.
I refuse to believe people can be so closed-minded as to not try and ADAPT to new variables. I mean after all, isn't that one of the fun parts about being the Aliens, adapting and evolving? Natural Selection? The theory if not the game.
And yes I know sensories will rock in 3.0, but till then, enough of the overall sensory hating. Where has the love gone? The love?

On topic, the reason people get so annoyed is that it can ruin their game. Yes, they could find a new server. Yes, they could live with it. But its their server, and when they are on their server, they do what they want to have fun.
(But trying to get him banned on other servers is crazy.)
Oh my god the sensory fanatics never die....
SENSORY CHAMBERS ARE WEAK RIGHT NOW, AND THEREFORE THEY SUCK!! GOOD MARINES WILL RAPE YOU EVERY TIME!
Enough of this "sensory's are viable" bullcrap, the fact is a no chamber gorge rush strat is viable like sensory chambers, however, I DO NOT RECOMEND IT TO EVERYONE!
Remember kids, picking a sensory chamber will cause you to lose 9 out of 10 games against good marines! So, don't do it, unless you feel lucky!

Which is why I made my suggestion in the I&S forum to de-nerf SCs. And once 3.0 comes out, with Focus, SCs will become more viable.
Not every post put forth in a harsher tone is a flame. Don't try to use the report function as a threat.
Keep in mind that not all of us are clanners. Some of us enjoy pub games. In pub games Sense can be fun and can win the game for you.
maybe we could all just get along and love one another....
free love and peace!!
How's that sound?
The "good marine" clause is a weak statement against sensory.
Anyhow, I agree that a person is allowed to admin their server with the set of rules they decide. I do not promote blacklisting except in the cases of:
cheating
continuous and earnest abuse (cc spam and likewise)
harassment
Banning someone for a valid strategy included in the game (otherwise sensories would be locked before second hive), is unnecessary. A kick would suffice, or a verbal warning. There are round reset options.
I think the stigma against sensory and people who advocate it, does have logical merits. But that doesn't justify arguing and hard feelings.
Everyone ALWAYS says that a gorge should ASK the team whawt THEY want. If he doesn't, he's flamed / banned.
What about the Marine aspect?
In a situation where res is scarce and only one push for the Hive is possible, if the commander researches, say, JP instead of HA, but half the team wanted HA instead, no one will complain (too much anyhow) and there would be no banning, that's because he's the high and mighty commander and he determines if the game is won or lost.
Why does no one look at the gorge that way? One gorge can mean the difference between a Kharaa win and a Frontiersman win. One gorge. An OC here, a DC there to heal that Fade. The Gorge is the Commander of the Kharaa imho. He should be able to determine how the round is played out if he is willing to sacrifice his res for the team, he should have the say.
NOTE:
This might not necessarily be my POV on this matter, but it is an argument that should be viewed.
Think methodically for a minute people, if you were a skulk (yes, use your imagination), with the amount of hitpoints you have, and the range a marine can shoot from, wouldnt you want to make yourself as discrete as possible, and choose the safest path to the marine? As opposed to charging in like i see so many rambos do and get gunned down every time. True ramboing worked in 1.04 when you had carapace, not now though, tactics have changed, the new cloaking is much more effective and one or two skulks cloaked in a corridor can succesfully take down a small squad of marines.
Would you rather be invisible or a little bit stronger ?
Invisible plz
One thing i noticed with better players is, they rarely use cloaking as they can take down a marine one on one, sensory is hardly ever used in wars due to this, however when i play in pub games i ALWAYS see people walking with sensory, it works for so many newbies and definately gets me cut. So referring to intriks post, i would say sensory *edited* me more than anything else in NS, and this is a good thing, makes me try harder and be more vigilant.
Kthnxjustmy2cents.
OMGOSH HE DROPPED A SENSORY CHAMBER, EXECUTE THE NEWBIE.....
starting to look a little familiar
get over it people
play the game like everyone else and stop annoying us with your worthless bitching, we dont want to read it.
"ahh guys i got the bomb you want me to plant it"
"OMG no you noob dont plant the bomb thats ****"
KICKBAN!!
I get the feeling this doesn't help in this case.
Why is it a fault? Because what that person did affects EVERYONE on his/her team. Picking up a railgun doesn't mean that everyone on their team has to use that railgun. Theres A HUGE difference, if this person dropped a SC and only he/she had to use that SC there would be no problem.
What the hell is the difference between a gorge and a commander? Both control which structures go down, both can mean the life or death of any given player.
I haven't read one person say ANYTHING about getting upset when comm researches JP instead of HA or viceversa "OMG JP!? EJECT / BAN!"
Of course that never happens. He's the almighty comm. So is a gorge.
Dude, you are seriously that stupid aren't you? This thread is NOT about sensory sucking, or being the best chamber. It's about what your team wants. I happen to like sensory chambers for your information, but if 90% of my team says they DON'T WANT THAT CHAMBER, I'm not going to go gorge and drop it, because I think the rest of the team is stupid for not liking it. This game isn't about what you yourself wants, this is a T E A M game, and if my team doesn't want to start with that chamber, then I have to agree with them. This game is NOT about winning. This game is about having fun whether you win or lose. Tards like me who make ns messed up? I think you might want to take a look at that statement, every reply you've made in this thread, and reread the threadstarters first post, before you make yourself look like any more of a fool.
Everwinter, gorges are NOT like the commander in 2.0.
THE ONLY REASON PEOPLE WANT DC IS SO THEY CAN GET 4 MINUTE FADE / 8 MINUTE ONOS.
I like the 6.5 minute onos.
Back on topic.
Dude, explain to me the ways a gorge isn't the "comm" and i'll give you ways he is:
1. First, to start with teh obvious, both are the only ones who can drop structures.
2. Both determine whether the team lives or not (i.e., healing, D chambers, etc.)
3. Neither can rush into a room to help save an RT (well a gorge will probably get slaughtered if he does) yet he can direct the rest of his team to that locale.
4. Only as much fortification goes up as a comm / gorge desires. If one OC / Turret is all he wants, that's all that goes there, provided he doesn't get ejected / another gorge comes along.
There are more that I could think of, but I don't want to take the time, but I do want to hear your ways in which he is NOT a "comm".
