And you point is? Deer(singular), Deer(Plural). Onos can be used for either one.
The only good example we have (from the English language) to compare to is the word rhinoceros. At dictionary.com, the plural endings are -os and -oses. At webster.com, the plural endings are -os, -i, and -oses. Not that that clarifies anything (it only adds to the confusion, I guess), but oh well.
But anyway.. Oni is winning <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Actually, the vote is wrong IMO. I believe the correct term would be "look out for <u>those</u> onos " or "look out for the flock of onos".
That was the conclusion of <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=15535&hl=' target='_blank'>a thread I started way back.</a> I still haven't seen a reason to change it, taking the origins of the name into consideration.

Well technically it is "Oni" in the english language anyways. (Fungus, Fungi; ect.) I always say "We have a LOT of Onos down here! Oh my sweet baby jesus they got X of 'em!" And the like when i play just because its scary to see them all rush at once right for you when your all alone gaurding the hive like a good marine should....

That is basicly where the logic for it being called Oni came from, that and its Japanese for Demon!
Japanese Oni is pronounced <OH knee>
Greek based Oni is pronounced <oh NIGH>
In the future please don't confuse the two... heh... <ock toe pee>.... <rye noss er ee>... too funny.

Should be included in Webster's and Oxford's!
And in other news, Oni winning by 10 votes!

Stuff this, I'm writing to Jabberwocky on this one.
