<div class="IPBDescription">......</div> i just saw the new over PHL............and i was wondering (plz don't get mad?) but y don't the team release the BIG Suprise next week?...........wat im trying to say is........how about NOT releasing beta 2 and work on the official 3.0 more?...........are u guys trying to see the beta 2 on public to see more bugs disscovered?

(but not promising) to have a patch out for you tomorrow night. No specific
news on the patch contents yet, but there should be some balance tweaks, map
updates and plenty of bug fixes. If we don't get the version out to you
tomorrow or this weekend, a much bigger update will be on it's way to you

Truth be told, if they do anything with cats, they should reduce the damage they cost and resources to research them. For the 20 res, I could just get hand grenades or hand out a couple of shotties. As for damage, 25hp always seemed rather extreme especially with the new armor. I'd think that 10hp would be a better balance. It does a significant amount of damage but not so that a skulk can kill you in a bite or two with level 1 armor.

Because there are a few balance issues that need to be fixed. The fade in general, as regarded by many pub servers ( both pubber, hoppers and clanners) sucks a lot and they think it dies a lot.
And yes they need a heavy load of people to find bugs. Because you obviously can't find bugs easily when you write code a lot.

As for the catalyst packs, I feel that the aliens would be placed at an unfair disadvantage if the marines do not lose 25% of their health as a counter-balance. I don't know how the aliens can stop a speeding, rapid-firing marine who also has a handgrenade.

I believe it is a good idea to work on public betas and slowly test their way up to the final build. That way, more bugs, gameplay annoyances, etc can be fixed now, while it's beta, instead of being embarrassed by official release problems.
They wait about 2 seconds for his clip to empty and kill him while his catpack goes to waste during the reload. Besides, catpacks are the most expensive pack and their usefulness is questionable enough as it is with anything but an HMG(or a rich man's knife). No one uses catpacks as they are and I would be surprised if that really changed even without the HP drop.
It's fun though, but I prefer old school.
Everything seems balanced except that Jetpackers rule all on Combat..even though they go down in a few less hits, they are harder to hit and the hive helath regen rate is too slow. One guy can take out the hive.

I dont really think that combat is taking over NS, I just think thier are more sever and more people playing it because its new! I mean ns classic may have gotten changed and improved, but combat is a whole new game so naturaly everyone is wanting to try it out and its so much fun everyone just keeps playing and playing it. But eventually things will cool down the newness will wear off and alot of people will play ns classic alot more. I am glad they added combat but when someone says lets play NS i am still going to think they are refering to classic. Imo combat will make a great filter, all those counterstrike junkies will play nothing but combat keeping them from messing up our precious classic.

Very true. It seemed like alot less new people were playing NS "classic" and spent way more time moaning about the servers changing to a ns_ map. Plus, it feels kinda nice to see NS expanding------just as long as it doesn't expand into the h4x0r |v|y |34x0r environment of CS.

I haven't had much of a chance to play Onos in Classic because as was said most people are wanting to play Combat, but the one time I did onos, I was mowed down so fast it was insane. In 2.01 I was an unstoppable 2 hive onos. Maybe i'll just have to adjust my tactics.
