the definition... aw man that made me laugh for awhile. But i do agree that people should be freindly to one another and this is a free space where people can speak there mind but keeping it in a civil and ahem legible/understandable speech.

Bigbull was not banned for posting what he thought. BigBull was banned for using the forums upload facility to attach pointless spam pictures, and also because of a comment which broke the forum rules about slurs towards race or sexual-orientation. He has received a 2 week ban. Shouting about it will not help BigBull's case, if you have a complain, please follow the correct channels as detailed in the forum rules. BigBull knows what he did wrong, and I dare say he will not do it again. There is no reason to form a mob to challenge a single decision about someone who quite distinctly broke the rules.
Please discuss the topic of this thread, without resorting to mob culture, without flames or slurs, and with some form of maturity, or this thread will also be removed or locked, which I dont want to happen. I suggest you all read the <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums.html' target='_blank'>Forum rules</a> and memorise them.
Cookie: The mods are not trying to push people, especially modellers, away from either the community or these forums in general. I speak for all mods when I say we encourage the creation of extra content for Natural Selection. However, as a small group, we cannot totally enforce behaivior on forum members, and as such we rely on the users to help each other, be civil, and create a nice environment. Most of the other forums stick to this rule, but there seem to be a higher number of arguments and spam in this forum, for reasons unknown to us. The ops try to enforce the rules universally.
You say that Brigadier couldnt handle the new people, I would suggest to all of you that instead of being hostile to new people, you embrace them. Its the only way this subcommunity can grow. Do not hate the moderators, if you want the community to succeed, why not try to work with us, rather than against us? I am on IRC a lot of the time, you are more than welcome to get my opinion on the content of a discussion on any topic. We all want the community to flourish, it makes no sense to argue about it.
"It's hard to accept these rules and requirements and especially the new people. the new ones are getting a free ride to spam whatever they want on other peoples threads and demanding what they want. I Dont think the Mods are helping THAT cause much. And i couldve swore i removed that picture.
"Concerning me and my suspending. I didnt make my quote for this topic, to lift my suspension or mean anything to happen reguarding my suspension. I just think the quality of this forum is going down, and i have the balls to say what everyone has been saying of it offline or off the boards."
fam: im not pointing this towards the moderators, im pointing this at the general members of the customization forum. All of you, remember this, think before you post:
did it help the author
am i rambling on?
am i moaning for a release that is up to the author?
Personally, I don't think NS customization is going downhill as a whole, (just look at the upcoming stuff by Sushi) but I do think that this forum has some issues just from reading a few of the topics.
As I see it we should all be friendly to the new comers but they are also becoming alot of them!
This means things that really brings progress doesnt stand out as much...
A solution to all this, in my view, is to create a "newbie" or "ask questions/do request" section to the customization forums. Kinda like the "newbie mapping section" in the mapping forum.
This would take away lots of those very common posts of requests and "help me!!" and bring forth the topics that really matters to the customization ppl!
I'd like to point anyone who feels a certain member - be it a regular or newbie - is acting abusive towards any other participant to the report function at the top of each post. As Fam already pointed out, we're relying on you to make this community a place worth staying in.
On a different note, BigBull, please accept that your posting privileges have been revoced for two weeks. Please don't ask others to dodge this suspension by posting your replies instead, it won't end nicely for either of you. I'm looking forward to your return in fourteen days.
[edit]Swede, not a bad idea, although I'll have to read myself into the issue before any decision can be found.[/edit]
its not really abusive posts though nem, its these people who look in a topic, like what they see, dont read through the topic, and just post <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->omg releasez0rz<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> etc etc that gets all us modellers wound up and annoyed
Here's a suggestion... If some you guys can't fit into this forum's mold, I suggest starting a forum somewhere else. I know from experience that it's a lot easier to do that than try to reshape an existing forum and its moderators. :)
This place is obviously too strict to keep a lot of you happy, it's easy to see that from all the drama posts. Many communities have forums which branch off from the official ones because of these reasons, so maybe it's time for that here.

But, for me atm there are way too many topics being started... so it is some times hard to give the attention a topic needs.

Other parts of the forums are pretty bad too, and there's a lot less traffic, so it's not just this.
