I've played in a few games (in a row) with Flay, Grendel, and Tommy D. I think Lazer might have been in there too. There were several playtesters and vets and I got owned but it was a lot of fun. I'll try to post a screen or two when I get home and if I remember.
We brits feel all left out, the devs never come to play with us!
The closest i've got to a "celebrity" is Nemesis Zero, under the name Nem0 I believe. He came in, I said hi, he said something along the lines of "Um, do I know you?" I realised he DIDNT really....

Why do you guys see this as such a big deal? It would be just another player in the game to me.. I see what happens when you get a lot of people looking up to you.. its just not as fun as you think

(as far as everyone's concerned) So, if you look up to the man but rarely see him, those moments become memorable. However, the more you see of him, the less memorable those moments will be. I've played with Flayra once, back in 2.01. It was on ns_tanith, we were both on Alien. It was funny because one of the marines started hiding behind a crate in chem transport, and e couldn't get to him. Then Flayra said "Hmm... never seen that exploit before..."
And apparently, he has been on our 3.0 server once, but I was not there, so I dont know for sure. My clanmate said things were going really awkward at the time... like really huge bugs that we have never seen before.

Ive played with Joev and Max quite abit on the closed beta servers, (watch max on marines he has a nasty shot /w the pistol), Ive never played with Flayra, thought I do reg on CoFR (screen shot posted earlier shows he was there).
I saw flayra in many games during beta testing, and on some fun map server game in 2.01 longer time ago (it was huge map and he was flying with fade like mad :-)
I only saw max when he was testing something during beta and was constantly restarting server...
During one combat game as marine, Flayra tried to organize us a bit, was fun game :-)

Never played him due to location difference. But I have to say that the screeny eggmac posted is VERY scary.
Yeah, I played with Flayra once. Pub server. KGB server. He was in spectator mode while the match ended. Near the end of the match, I did F4 to ask him some questions, he was spectating. I respect him as a coder, he's a nice guy and he did attempt to organize us... But I found out he doesn't like The Specialists, and since I've decided that it isn't THAT spetacular, though it was kind of cool to talk to the game creator. What would you do if John Carmack just joined some random public Quake III: Arena server, or Erik Johnson some TFC server? I'd ask either some questions, maybe say, "Damn, you're cool...". But that's just me. I don't have much to look up or forward to, and since I plan on becoming a game coder, they're kind of special in my mind. But, oh well, I'm a lost cause :\
