It took me 4 months to get 500 posts after finding Off Topic, and gaining x999999 intelligence level.
Mainly showed off the weapons arsenal, physics model, and graphics, shooting at various mutated pigs, empty shelving units, and other weathered furniture in a junkyard with grass that moved with the wind. I noticed a bit of lag between explosions and flying objects; HL2's preview movies had similar/same frame-by-frame inconsistensies for demo recording reasons, so I assume it's the same issue here.
Those aren't CS sounds. Thats how it really sounds(surprisingly)

I do love how stalker will feature real-time time changing, because it's only been implemented in a few games(GTA anyone?). Stalker looks like a game that I would need a new computer for, or at least a new stick of RAM. Personally though, I'm going to go for UT2k4, unless Stalker comes out with a really good demo. I'm running low on HDD space and money right now, so I've got to watch my spending on video games, sadly.
I've actually barely read anything about STALKER before, i must admit, but with the inventory system in there and weird mutants around, i feel i'll like it.
I love how you can customise your weapon with a scope / silencer / grenade launcher / lam / bayonet / smaller gun / butter knife / clock radio / kitchen sink, i hope that's not restricted to certain weapons. btw, isn't left handed weaponry DESIGNED to be mirrored (for those designed for left handers, not just carry a weapon in left hand) in order to protect your face from hot lead?
Anyway, pretty long time left before its going to be released so I bet the sounds are going to be improved.

but stalker's weapons are mirrored 4 lyfe, from what i've read of dev interviews.. too bad =\

The weapons were implemented that way, there was a big battle on their forums about whether weapons should be mirrored or realistic, and the developers stuck with 'mirrored' as not to alienate the non-weapon fanatics who can't tell (apparently they're supposed to go, "Ejection ports woooooooo, I want to buy that now...of course, if they weren't visible this game would suck!" - that's my take anyway, it seems retarded to make a sci-fi game trying to be realistic less realistic).
Well, since they have the mirrored guns...they better keep the russian voice acting. If they get rid of anything that remotely causes immersion...well then what in hell is the point in playing it?
I can see them taking away your ability to walk/run, because some people are inept enough to not know how to do wasd and arrow key walking. Errr, well, that was a tangent. The game looks cool, sounds (the concept, not the sounds, they're kind of bland) and is posed to look cool, if they stop changing everything for the worse.
i like that they have the USP and p99 now too =D
