A computer game addict in western China collapsed and died at his screen after playing the popular online game Saga non-stop for 20 hours, a news report said today.
The 31-year-old began playing the game regularly at an internet cafe in Chengdu, Sichuan province, three months before his death, according to the South China Morning Post.
An employee at the cafe said he would play for more than 10 hours a day and was found dead on Saturday morning after a marathon 20-hour session, the newspaper said.

You'd think.
You mean weed out the weak from the strong?
Whooo time to play for 40 HOURS BECAUSE I AM INDESTRUCTIBLE.

So was he weak because he couldn't control his urge to play?
Or was he weak because he couldn't last 20 hours?
Just curious.
dude plays game for 20 hours -> dies
Darwin, WTH?!
Are you serious!?
That's it, I know what I'm doing at school tomorrow. I just need to know how to get an anvil on the roof.

Wow, now that is crazy...
I swear I heard this exact same story 2 years ago.

i think you mean the korean guy who died after 72 hours of straight starcraft?
Lesson here: Stop playing games when you feel woozy, or your body sends you other signals. That dude in CS may need a headshot badly, but he's probably hacking, and spaghetti, your pillow, and your body parts are all more fun to play with anyway (as long as your body parts remain functional and attached to your body...)
WOOO Headrush!
Reiterate or Redirect?
I'm trying my best to see which one fits better.
Oh and headrushes like that suck.
Course... I can't see for 2 months afterward (j/k about that)
It's not that bad... I've gone more than a week without ANY sleep, I often don't eath lunch, very RARELY have time for breakfast... and I'm at my ideal weight (175 pounds) for my height (5 foot 11 inches) I have a LOW body mass index (I think it's around 4-6%... not sure right now as it's late and I'm a tad tired) and I can leg press ~ 2.5 times my body weight (the max I can do is ~400 pounds)
I dun know how much I can bench press (haven't checked lateley... last year this time it was THE bar... but I've trippled my muscell mass and halved my fat mass since then)
I'm BUILT man! I got a fair 6 pack (with a 1/4 inch layer of fat over top... stupid me forgot to work my abs for almost 4 months 0o") so hehe, I'm healthy!
Really, staying up for ~100 hours isn't THAT dangerous... as long as you compensate by reducing WHAT you do, HOW much you do, and increasing the Caloric intake and Natural Sugar (aka, Glucose) intake to compensate
I know where guys like this are coming from. it's not purely a gaming addiction, it's depression at the root... depressed about life, want to forget it exists, play video games obsessively to drown it out... same reason people become drug addicts/overdose on drugs...

That's because this happens every 6 months. heh.

Everything in moderation.

yeah i was checking post dates to make sure this wasnt an old one..
we have seen it here before.. im sure of it.
And, thankfully, Darwin pointed out the meaning of evolution before. So it shouldn't be surprising seeing the stupid people dying early.
BTW, I think there were like....4 or 5 cases before these? I remember the Starcraft one and one about some MMORPG. Don't know why he killed himself though. They said it was because he was turned down on something or whatever happened. He pulled the trigger on his head in the end.
Aye....this is life....thank god I'm not like that....
