Hm, I don't think I usually listen to music while playing NS, since I like to listen to footsteps, but I used to listen to techno/dance while playing Warcraft 3 -> it helped me stay focused, for some reason.

I like the Original Matrix theme and the Requiem For a Dream theme.

On the CD, tracks 2-11, IIRC. At least it was for me, being the normal Quake II owner I am.

Either none or some Thrice from their first couple CD's, good stuff.

When I'm kinda just messing around it's either 311 or some sort of ska or punk.

Its always going to be Skipknot, KoRn, Disturbed, Mudvayne, Metallica, or any other rock group with heavy bass playing. I usually have it at half volume, so I can listen to any approaching skulks/oni/lerks/fatties. Interesting music that you others listen to...I can't imagine playing with any calming music while slaughtering an entire marine team with one Xeno bomb.
