Mozilla over here, recent refugee from IE. I can't remember why I switched, but I can tell you that I sure don't like the way Mozilla handles javascript and plugins. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I know why <i>I</i> switched from IE. So much Spyware, toolbars, links, popups, home-page reassignments that I figured it would just be easier to find a new browser.

Well, that certainly isn't why I switched. Ad-aware fixes all that stuff, dude. Why didn't you just get that?

Get firefox 0.8 007. You sometimes have to download plugin-installers but at least it works unlike Firebird ;\

Because there is so much on my system now, that they only way to get rid of all of it would be to reformat. I have to run Spyware scans daily, that junk it still there.

All sorts of crap installed itself on my computer.

Crap, dude. If ad-aware can't kill it, there's no telling what's in there. You might want to run a virus scan, see if there's anything actually damaging on your box.

good ol' internet explorer <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> haven't had any problems with it, so i don't really have any complaints.

    Ah... hey! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Anyway, I've tried going through and deleting that stuff, but it just keeps coming back. Luckily, I'm too young to worry about having something that could be hacked (i.e., keylog all you want, I don't have a bank account for you to steal from).

I know it doesn't have anything to do with IE, but IE now has all sorts of junk on it that annoys me; as I said, more toolbars, "Favorites" links automatically being added, my Homepage being changed, et cetera.

    Opera is just easier.

Don't ask me why I decided that was relevant, it just seemed to fit.

I use IE6 because its faster than Mozilla and I just like the way the HTML is rendered on it better. Also, while I know I'm in the minority, I HATE tabbed browsing.

And while we're on the topic let me go on a personal rant about how ALL of the browsers today suck, NONE of them conform to the W3 standards the way they should, and ALL of them make up their own crap and interpret the standards the way they think they should originally have been made rather than WTH they actually are. Grrrr.

    Firefox.
I should probably uninstall Firebird and Opera, as I don't use them.
Due to the security risk, IE has to ask for permission to access the internet.

Opera, it has some weird bugs in it, but I love it because of the tabs, and the wealth of info it gives about loading a website, just seeing a very slowy growing status bar pisses the hell out of me.

Firefox + Thunderbird = never having to worry about catching viruses just by looking at web pages and email... ok, so really only one of those apply, since I only know of one code execution exploit for IE. But I never have to look at popups, flash animations don't get played unless I tell them to, no popups, mouse gestures, built-in google bar, no popups, won't have to worry about learning how to use a whole new browser just ot use a different OS, no popunders, can always use the right-click, working PNG, and of course the 'Open in tabs' feature for the bookmark folders. I'm not a huge fan of tabbed browsing, but being able to open up every thing under "News" at once is really nice.

One thing I will say in Mozillas favor however is it has some very very handy stuff w/ the JavaScript debugger and the Page Info stuff letting you view your HTTP Headers, Cookie contents, and etc. Very lifesaving info at work. If only it weren't so slow...

Mozilla Firebird. Is there any reason I should bother switching to Firefox?
