[mreq] Luciendar - Sword Of Light

If anyone could model this, i would love them forever. (for the knife of course.)
<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm not sure how it would exactly work, it would probably need some new animations, and that would be difficult i think.

I'm getting this sword in the mail in like a week or two ^.^

    I think I'm going to try. But i'm probably going to fail miserably.

    edit: rar. Scratch that idea. To do that I would need to reinstall 3dsmax, stupid hard drive innacessible_boot_device -.-

    yesh, definetely not close. The sword in there is one of those lame ones with that disgusting bit on the end. It's not noble looking at all.

    NS is probably one of the best mod's that you can customize. It has diverse gameplay, and models to go with it.
    This is not a post, pointed at telling you whats wrong and right, but it's the honest truth about requesting models here.

    I have calculated over 70% of requested models either die, don't get payed attention too, or just plain not finish.

    Your best bet, is to learn how to model yourself, by using the sub-forum located at the top of this forum.

    Yup yup, and i plan to attempt this as soon as i get 3dsmax installed again.
    I also need to install mIRC so i can be part of the Flaytona <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    This is what happneed the last time i tried to model... I placed every one of those vertices, and then connected the polygons. It would have been sweet, but when i finished it it just didn't look right at all...

    ^^^ ohhh nice, i like it... PC? would be simplish to skin and akinmesh if you could release it. the only problem i see is the two inner peices arent even and it would bug the crap out of me ingame...

    edit: i made those inner pieces the same size, and in the right position now so the model is ready for meshing if anyone wants to <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    What progs are you using when making all these models? Are they free and can you use ONLY 3dsmax?

    I use Milkshape, which is kinda like 3dsmax i think. And no, its not free <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    My god, that's hot.

    Even unskinned.

    I really hope someone finishes this, and I can't wait to get my actual one in the mail <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    edit1:
    Oh, besides that little oddity that's already been mentioned, this part is looking wrong.. Not sure if you meant to, nor am I sure if it's possible to make it look the same with a skin, but that middle part isn't a triangle on the actual one, it's mroe of a... trapezoidish thing... *points*

    edit2:
    Also ntoiced, that end piece of the handle (where the crystal is) doesn't look like it would be very possible to put claws on it like the picture... Depending on the animations used thuogh, this may, or may not matter. Also, is it possible to put transparencies on models?

    Reddmonkey, if you throw the ms3d file onto this thread I'll try and skin mesh it. Might try and skin it too while I'm at it.

    chrome? mhm I'd use the same technique as it was used on that HL² style USP (some kind of overlay I think) <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Anyone know if Mintman is still meshing the model, or if anyone is?
  • MintmanMintman Join Date: 2003-05-30 Member: 16866Members
    I made a start but I'm going to do most of it tomorrow. I'm assuming both sides of the sword look the same so I'm laying opposite sides on top of each other.

    actualy there is a 30 day trial of 3dsmax at the discreet website and there is a 30 day trial of milkshap (i think) and after that milkshape is only 25 dollars but 3dsmax gets a bit pricy

    do you mind if i take a wack at this?
