(Textures should only be messed up on .3ds, just change them all around till you get this. Should be fine on .ms3d)

In other news, the pred I have seems to use the NS model and is animated ok.... I can only really work with mdl formats..
Someday, SOMEDAY, we'll have a finished pred (fade replacement, oh yes) with proper v weapons.

Trying to add NS bone to this and deafult NS animations and see what happens

Kudos to those of you who can mesh and can use Milkshape. It just hurts my head.
2. and necro, if you think milkshape is hard, wait till you hit 3dsmax. there's more buttons in that program than a stealth bomber O_o;
^_^ but it's easy if you know what you're doing
Considering I'm halfway through the hands, with a full working fade pred which could be tweaked up to LA, it would be surprisingly easy and only really need ripped guns to go in the hands.
But hey, lets just all work individually and maybe in a years time someone will pack all the separate stuff together... and then someone else will repack it... and then someone else will repack it, and it'll be just like all the Aliens stuff.

Head and arms are done, give or take. Torso halfway done - can't decide whether or not to tie the shoulder cannon to the head or not. Its not been done with the light pred, thats for sure. Legs untouched. I reckon another day of work and I might have something usable.
V model wise it could just use the v models I'm already making, only with a reskin. Which means it'd have a knife and a basic weapon (sc). If you were doing a pack proper, you'd need to think about what's replacing what.
IE if knife is blades, whats handgun, hmg, lmg, and sg going to be?
And how to make projectiles appear for the SC?
Fade is much easier, hehe.
Energy Fleccthe = Lmg
Energy Fleccthe x2 = HMG

Pistol = Pistol (or some trophy pistol like that flintlock from Predator 2)
LMG = Fletchet
HMG = Spear gun
GL= Mini-Bombs or Pistol (let's face it, that's how the pred pistols fires)
Mine = Mini-Bombs or... Disc (ok not really accurate but wth)
Welder = Electro-Hacker-Thingy or a modded plasmacaster's stream
Grenade = Bolo(sp?) whip... 2 balls in a short string that go boom on impact?
ATM I'm using wristblades for knife and plasmacaster for LMG. Maybe at some point someone will tweak the v weapons I'm doing and add that little flechette thing for pistol.
Which would leave the AvP pistol as HMG or GL...... shotgun would be better as a speargun, it'd suit the reload.
Disc would be a no no.
On topic - still working at the Heavy vertices, hoping to have it done-ish for tonight and needing only tweaking. Maybe. I'm still trying to finish my v weapons, and they're higher priority for me.

Looks fine in Milkshape, I can move the arms about and it all seems to deform ok.
However, when I c&p the Heavy anims onto it...
Skeleton still stands upright - so I suppose somewhere somehow the bones are confused?
well that happens when you move a bone in the reference skeleton., and when it comes to animations the whole anim gets totally ****
So when I moved the Heavy skeleton a little bit to fit the model, I borked it all to hell? Gotcha!
Ok, open milkshape, start again from scratch, and this time DO NOT MOVE THE HEAVY SKELETON TO FIT BETTER NECROSIS.

Edit - Well... its somewhat recognisable now. Vertex assignment is ok on the feet and hands though... Need to go through it all and find the right bits. Tricky stuff!
Its just small reassignments needed, but currently it can walk, run, use heavy equipment etc all ok.
Death animations are friar tucked though.
As cool as a predator for HA would be it'd be a great fade, you could make a laser projectile for the acid rocket and use the shoulder cannon for the fades acid launcher.
Nonetheless, I'd def use the predator as my HA.

Why not just use the projectile already done for Sven Co-Op?
