I think a nice thing would be for the prawn's or seamoth's storage modules to stay intact when they explode. No, the moonpool doesn't have a beacon. So here's my idea relating to that:

For me at least, having you meet other people would ruin it. I think that you should get a message from other survivors saying to meet at the rendezvo…What if instead of a portable scanner room, the Cyclops could get an upgrade that allowed it to hold a camera drone, and it could scan the surrounding area. (Technically, it would still be a portable scanner room.)
