The behaviour they're describing is what's called "wear levelling". SSDs do this so that all the NAND circuits are evenly used over the lifetime of the device itself. The more space you use on the drive, the less ability it has to wear level, and th…

What SSD do you have? How big is it and how much free space do you normally keep on it? What OS are you running on? If you converted from an HDD to an SSD previously, a possibility is that TRIM may not be on, check that out.

In regards to hit reg, I am revisiting through continued play to determine what the issue I have is. Because, I actually had forgotten about the physical dimensions of a skulk, compared to that of a "terrorist" in CSGO, or a "soldier" in TF2, which …This kind of blew beyond the original intent I had for this thread, yikes.
I just felt like the hit reg needed some lovin and wanted to bring attention to it so UWE could start planning around addressing it. I myself don't want UWE to tu…QuakeWorld most definitely came out before quake 2 and quake 3, not after Q3A. You can thank QuakeWorld for what seriously kicked the FPS genre into high gear. It did a lot of awesome things, one of note is making the game actually reasonably playab…Just rebooted after going to 375 (driver). I suspect it's more that I haven't rebooted in ~25 days (due to work constraints), but my FPS is like 60-80 now, a touch better than before.
You're probably right about the openGL part though, t…I'm running on Linux btw, with 3 monitors, also I think there's a new driver update for my graphics card that I haven't gotten to just yet, hope that'll help.Yeah I'm on a 120hz monitor, and I definitely notice that my setup doesn't go over 60FPS really at all, and I'm on a 960GTX + i7 980X.I'd prefer they go Vulkan. I game in Linux and DX11 makes me

So maybe we should spin up more servers then? :^)

Uh that trello card is not visible or something?- I'm talking about hit reg with ping in the neighbourhood of 60-90ms, not 100+.
- Hit registration is the process of the client hitting "fire", the server interpreting the situation, and REGISTERING a hit actually happened, and not a …
Shit like this is why I continue to come back to NS2. The extended support of this game is stellar!
Thanks a bunch guys! Keep it up! in Update 314 Now Live on Steam! - Natural Selection 2 Comment by BloodyIron March 2017I disagree that you need a 1080 to see gains from Vulkan in DOOM, because I've seen plenty of other GPUs see massive gaines for DOOM switching to Vulkan mode. Proof's in the pudding buster.Vsync is off, maxfps is set to 200, and the monitor is set to 120hz, so AFAIK it should go over 60fps if it can, maybe I'm missing something but I am not sure what it could be. If I could get above 60FPS currently that'd be rad!
Vulkan t…At any settings? I have to go to medium to get stable FPS, but if I go to all-low, my FPS doesn't go above 60, which is weird and I suspect may just be an API limitation or something. I've monitored my CPU though, it's not the bottleneck.
You MONSTERS!... err, I mean... okay

Gloom was so incredibly fast paced! What a classic. Last time I saw R1Ch was TeamLiquid stuff.Bit of a rez here, but I'm gaming on Linux, and NS2 runs good enough for now. I'd love to see Vulkan though so I can get some seriously mad FPS! My Windows brethren meanwhile are having fun getting like 120-200 FPS in Vulkan & Natural Selection 2 Comment by BloodyIron March 2017Guys, there's a console command that @redsword referred to that should work. Have you not tried it?The tutorial ran fine for me, except at the end I wasn't clear if I could safely leave, so I just left, but might be worth saying that you can safely leave.
I'm also having a graphical glitch when I alt tab out of the game and back in, w…Certainly!

Welp, I'm in Linux :PThat's way lame. I have to seriously put up with 4hrs of tutorial? Before I can play with humans?

Uh I had the game uninstalled for quite some time. I have been running on a very small SSD, but after the latest update I figured I would see how much faster loading was!
Why?

yeah got it handled, but still curious about updates?when running the server does it need to use the same account? this is going to make updating a real pain in the assHaving issues logging in with steamcmd using my regular accountFailed to install app '4940' (No subscription)
