Your right, that was unnecessary, and I'm certainly not going to ignore his input here. I apologize for the remark. -
@IronHorse
You seem to want to buff the flamethrower to give marines an option similar to the Bilebomb rushes aliens have during a desperate situation an… -

I'd say that idea belongs in it's own thread once it's been fleshed out a bit. It's not small tweaks you're looking at, but a massive change in the way the game plays. You've not really explained the new roles of infestation and po… -
Sorry, I was tweaking my final sentence for a broader view, rather than isolating on the tunnel element... Didn't see you'd responded.

(Quote) Where can you place structures? where can you place tunnels? and why is it suddenly complex to figure out where Is allowed? does the comm has to sporadically place structures around in the hope it creates infestation? if it needs to grow …

But there's nothing to stop a cyst chain being made to the gorge. If it gets cut somewhere along the way it doesn't matter. the gorge just grows the end cyst and drops his tunnel down anyway. If I understand correctly, it'd also require the comm to …

I've popped in a couple of times and given my opinion on certain things being discussed, but to get back to to overall topic at hand...
Back on page 1 it's talking about how BB is a great comeback tool... but I dont think it was supposed… -

No-one is implementing changes based in their personal opinions and no-one thinks there ideas would damage the game. That's why the CDT is a team... one that discusses changes amongst themselves, UWE and the community. We're suppos… -
Yeah, you're right in saying Xeno isn't going to end a match alone, but it's a great way to open a push into marine base with higher lifeforms. Most lifeforms have abilities that help with such a push already. We've already discussed the Skulk and …

You can't compare a zerg rush on base to a gorge bile bombing. One requires a team effort and good coordination and is easy to spot coming (It takes time to get the team together for such a rush - during which there aren't eng… -
A few comments here seem a little dismissive of the OP's question. Plenty of IP's are worked on by multiple developers. Call of Duty comes to mind (Treyarch,Infinity Ward & Sledgehammer). Natural Selection 2 gave birth to NS2 Combat, from Faultl…

It's a lot of work for a system that doesn't provide a great deal of use. As a commander you can give all the orders you want, but that doesn't mean your marines will obey, even if they do understand the order through some fancy UI... Right off the …

This thread takes me back to my first dozen or so matches with NS2. I picked it up at release, so if leap ever did damage, it was some time before I started playing, but for the first few matches, I was convinced it dealt damage and ruined many ambu…

Well, I finally had a chance to get in to NS2 for a proper session tonight, after some long shifts at work the past couple of days.
As a player who's put in well over 1000 hours now, the difference in performance has been very noticeable… -

Post NS2 patch, yes. NS2+ recieved an update which will have been automatically downloaded when you joined a server running it.

Sorry, but given the NS2+ volcano shift bug, i can safely say this isn't entirely accurate. The shifts wern't coming up through the ground, but they could still take damage if the area they were supposed to be was hit. if the visua… -
This is the "volcano Shift" bug. It's been fixed, and was caused by echoing a shift, not related to eggs.

Awesome! ridiculously quick getting that fix out
Edit: Confirmed fixed in 'Sandbox' running NS2+ -
I crashed whilst commanding marines. The server was running NS2+ (before Mendasp fixed the NS2+ shift bug, just in case it was related somehow)
Playing on Summit, someone hopped in and out of the chair starting the match, I hopped in so … -

Still doing some tests. I've only been testing it in "Sandbox" thus far... where it seems running NS2+ Mod clientside is the issue. turning that mod off has resolved the issue for me. Not got into a multiplayer match to test NS2+ … -

I'd add that the Shift can continue to echo other structures, just not itself. It also can't accept move orders, and the visual model doesn't surface (but the collision model exists). It can still take damage, and if destroyed, the… -

I've not spent much time looking at the files, so don't quote me on this, but I imagine there's a wealth of transferable information on creating mods for "Garry's Mod" using LUA.
