That's a bummer (that you fried your old PC). Sounds like you have a nice new one though, even with the small mobo.
It's interesting that you had yours up to 5.0 and I'm only at 4.6 (HT is on in my rig). But, I guess ev… -

Note to all SSD owners: Make sure you have AHCI enabled in your BIOS. It makes a HUGE difference in performance.

You certainly can. I have an Intel i7 2600k overclocked to 4.6Ghz and I rarely see any number except 0 before "ms waiting on render thread," in r_stats 1.
My GPU is the bottleneck (I have a GTX 580). It usually has 2/3 … -

OP, I just kind of assumed you would attach rewards to the player rankings but maybe I was wrong.
Still, I agree with what you said. We need matchmaking and we need rankings, and these two features need to be fully inte… -
The OP had two main points as far as I can tell:
1. We need matchmaking
2. We need more stats and level / rank progression
I agree with both of these.
The rankings are what kept me playing BF3 for a long time. I w… -
I vote for "Biogenesis" (which means "beginning of life") since it is the beginning of Biodome's life as a map in the NS universe. Plus, it sounds cool.

I cannot express to you all how happy it makes me to see NS2 running on Linux - especially Ubuntu!

This model looks great! Thanks for making her classy. She looks like a real military woman to me.

I think it's worth it no matter how long it takes (almost). The current weapon scroll configuration really is obnoxious, and completely backwards from the majority of FPS games out there. I'm not sure why it was done the way it was… -
Here's the latest WIP area: Satellite Relay (Tech Point).
There are many challenges in this area. The primary challenge is the outside environment. I have to craft an outside environment that is realistic but does not allow the player to… -

This oddity occurs in game. Many people play with shadows turned off anyway, but there's a light in this same area that has a nice shadow coming off a truss rod. I'd like to keep it but this entire area looks like this. I'll just k… -
Encountering a very strange shadow bug.
See attached. Turning "Casts Shadows" off resolves the issue, but for these lights I would like for shadows to remain on, if possible. Any ideas?

Yes, I would really like to help get this issue solved. I'm just not sure what is to blame. -

In general, I agree. However, remember that these are glorified hallways. Also, there are plenty of places for skulks to move around each corner. Oh, and don't forget about vents. Although I haven't mapped out the vent paths yet I … -
I feel like I'm updating a lot, but I have quite a bit of free time and like to show off my work... here's some new shots.

Maybe internally, but it would be nice to see this number in the GUI.

Definitely not just a novelty. I have killed a few skulks with the LMG this way. It really is faster than switching weapons and can save your life in a skulk battle!New area. It's actually a sort of "hallway room" that forms a 90 degree angle. This is the "infirmary."

When have you ever seen marines fight aliens? This is science fiction, not science-boring-fact.
OP, it looks good.

Here's what I worked on today: Research Labs. Obviously, this is still a work in progress.

I'm sure I just wasn't using SkyDrive right. I don't know how / if you can use it as image hosting. Anyway, can you see it now?

I suppose we could create a demo but doesn't it break from release to release? In other words, if I make a demo from build 241 will it work with build 242? I was under the impression that it would not.(Quote)
Please don't forget that maps were bigger in NS1 and the game's pace was *typically* slower. NS2 is more fast-paced and the maps are smaller. Graphics were messed up and some pieces of geometry were totally missing! Sorry I didn't get a screencap.
I don't think it was my card overheating but I guess I can't be sure of that.
stepanjuroska,
Sorry to hear about this. As others have mentioned, it sounds like you got an illegitimate key. Did you buy the game directly from Steam?
