Don't look for caves - there are some, but if you're starting out, it's not worth the time you'll have to spend looking for them.
Instead find another biome - most biomes except the starting one have the resources you need.

Subnautica is a story game, not gameplay game. Story is great, but it can only be fully experienced once. And if you remove the story from the game, basic gameplay is actually pretty simple and non-challenging. As a result all replays are more or le…

I'd rather see time capsules disabled in hardcore mode and left as they are in other modes. But that's a moot point anyway since the game is no longer in development.

Guess I'll elaborate on a couple of points.(Quote) They had to move below the sea level because the floating island is devoid of resources, as everyone who tried to build a base there knows. :-)
Afterwards, …(Quote) There are plenty of time capsules sent before the cuddlefish eggs ban was implemented. Some of them naturally contain cuddlefish eggs. I've got one once with the latest game version, so it does happen.
But yeah, there are five…(Quote) IIRC it was claimed to be a reaction to a specific gun-related incident, not a consistent policy.(Quote) For this to work though you'd need to transport one of Sea Emperors, so (s)he would challenge Alterra in court. :-)It's perfectly sustainable if you keep in mind that salt can be converted to water too.
In fact you can get almost 2.5 times more water from salt than from filtered water production.(Quote) I'm actually not sure they really treat them that poorly. All debt claims are done by automatic AI and don't necessarily apply to the situation at hand. Maybe the arctic DLC will clear things up a bit.Sell it. It's kinda useless for my office job. :-)(Quote) If you're not building big, it doesn't really matter where you build - you don't need that much resources to win the game.
If you're building big, then you don't really need any exotic resources. What you do need is titanium a…(Quote) I usually combine these approaches. :-) I go in a Seamoth and build a small base in ILZ, somewhere close to the edge of the entrance to ALZ. This gives me practically 100% reach with a Seamoth/Seaglide combo for the entire area.
Aren't you automatically doused with clear water when you pass the hatch? :-)(Quote) No idea about requirements, never investigated that. But this would require quite a number of agreements between various involved parties, that's for sure. Still, there are precedents, and at least some publishers are open to the idea.(Quote) There's a way to register product keys from other platforms on Steam. Essentially you buy a product elsewhere, get it's key (or separately generated additional key), and enter it in Steam client in the "Games - Register product on Steam" …I'd expect Cyclops module to have less range than scanner room actually, and thus use less power. It doesn't need that big a range anyway, you can always just move the sub itself.(Quote) There's a recording "Aurora Scanner Room Voice Log" where it states quite explicitly that they planned to orbit the planet, take quick scans, find nothing and report to the Mongolians that nothing was found. Then the scanners picked somet…(Quote) That's a nice suggestion. What it actually translates into:

Calling them "solar" is just a PR trick by Alterra to calm down the public fears about everything fusion. Prawn suit is kinda fun, but it's limited and dependent on a Cyclops to do real exploration.
And Cyclops is simply too big and cumbersome.
