  • Damn, that thing is a lot bigger than I expected it to be, looks freaking fantastic though!
Can't wait to play bumper cars with the ReefBacks once it gets added. in The Cyclops is Coming - Subnautica Comment by Lye January 2015

Ah yes, I just saw that after I posted this.
I guess it's just the general consensus. Anything really to get rid of all those white boxes lying around.
  • I do like the fragments, but they're still far from complete.
Constructor Fragment and Seamoth Fragment, etc. all sound too specific. While the concept is a good implementation, I think you should label them better.
    Like, for the fragmen…

My concern is that, even though it shows 3840x2160 as being an option in the pre-game configuration menu, as soon as you start the game, it goes back to 1080p.
Maybe that's just me though, as I'm not actually using a 4k monit…
  • I'm just glad you guys have the giant ship crash landed in the middle of the ocean, I always just use that as my reference.
If drones or robots are introduced in the game, maybe you could create one that sits ontop of your lifepod, or floats o…
  • Well the team is currently developing a game alongside Subnautica, that being Future Perfect. http://unknownworlds.com/futureperfect/
I don't know too much about it other th…
  • Honestly, I don't want another Natural Selection. That ship has sailed, and while it was a fantastic game, I'm glad the devs are trying something different, treading new waters. (lol)
However, seeing as this game IS made on the unity engine, I…
  • I actually answered my own question. So long as a game supports 4k resolutions, with a Nvidia card it can be downsampled; before I just never bothered setting Subnautica to anything past 1080p, but it does run at 4k, and it looks very nice too.

Here's hoping these game sales go into getting you a better PC. =)

  • I'm half-hoping this won't be the extent of the graphical optimization. The game for me runs pretty smoothly at 60-70fps on normal or experimental settings, but has this weird tendency to slow down to 20-30 randomly every 10 seconds or so. Also, it …

  • This does happen fairly often, and normally I wouldn't see this as being too big of a deal, but whenever you pick up the sand underneath it, it leaves the salt (or whatever item is there) awkwardly floating in midair. (midwater...?) Hopefully they'l…
  • I'm quite fond of that big purple eel like thing that is used as the site's border graphic.
Other than that, Manta Rays are incredibly cool, and if somehow you could alienate one and use that as a deep sea creature... in Sea Creatures and Behavior Ideas Dump!~ let's help the Dev to come up KrayKray sea creatures!~ Comment by Lye December 2014

I know I'm not a dev or anything, but just based off what you said, it sounds like your game might not have installed correctly.
1-Update your Graphics Card drivers through AMD's site if you haven't already.
    2-Verify yo…

Oh yeah, most definitely; however there isn't like, a sightseers checkbook for things like that. Not that I'd want there to be, seeing all the beautiful behind the scenes workings of Subnautica is one of the most rewarding things a…

    I'm kidding though.…
  • You could try re-verifying the game cache, and if not that, try a reinstall.

  • The only reason I could see implementing this, is so that you could swim upside down, or maybe through tight cracks in cave walls if they were any position other than horizontal.
Otherwise, it'd just complicate the control scheme I think.
  • Hmmm....
As far as minerals go, they form by predictable chemical reactions that have been tested over and over, so the same common minerals should be found throughout the universe. On the other hand, each environment produces subtly different…
  • Definitely! I believe we need some sort of expansion in the underwater survival Bastion department at some point or another in the development stage. Right now, the escape pod serves as the player's base of operations, and I like the idea of upgradi…
  • I could dig it. It'd be a great way to get people to buy the game again in order to gift their friend(s) a copy.
At this point in time though, I think they should wait until a little more content is added. As of right now, multiplayer would do…
