Thankyou Lastbacon! I recently lost my XP System folders (bad block on hard drive) and lost this file. Too bad UWE isn't paying attention to old/artifact dependencies in their code. -
ROFL - all the geniuses saying that NS2 won't run with this that or the other thing. Perhaps what you really meant to say was "it won't run well".
I'm running XP 32 bit, 4Gb, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz.
NS2 runs fine 75 percen… -

Husar, I didn't say, or even mean to imply, that "you" did.
I don't mind if it takes the Devs a long time to either fix or optimize for 32 bit. In fact, if ppl read what I wrote carefully enough, I'm not even arguing t… -
Now that a few of you responded I'll throw this out. I have no problem with developers dropping old OS support and 32 bit. Let's increase our tech., fine I'm all for it. That's the way of progress. But, then don't go doing this:

It tells me that you know nothing about proper coding techniques and that your reasoning is why so much bloatware and crapware has been written. Who cares about optimization and resource allocation, I've got plently of RAM and CPU…I rather like commanding, in fact I'd like to do more in order to get better at it. Unfortunately for me the problem is that the game keeps crashing so I don't bother because I don't want to leave a team w/out a Komm.A little better, less crashes but they are still happening. On a good note my FPS has improved a bit.Did you make any changes before this started happening? Such as adding the /3Gb switch to your boot.ini ?I don't think that it matters where you place the "/3gb" parameter within the line.
So this should work -
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional 3Gb" /3Gb /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
…I'm with Zaggy on this. I'm new to NS, never played NS1. I've won both as Marines and Aliens. You need both a good commander and a good team. A good commander without a good team, or a good team without a good comm., will rarely win regardless o…(Quote)
Just to second pattydaplayer, I am unable to generate the minidump file as well. I can run the techsupport.exe no problem but there is no minidump type of file. The zip is only half the size of 2coughs file, so I presume that I a…(Quote)
Sry IronHorse, I missed your earlier post. Will do.
Crashing with the same "Failed to allocate 24187448 bytes" message. Running XP SP3 with 4Gb RAM. My settings are so low my computer slipped down into the basement.
PS I sent in about 10 crash reports (log.txt) file via the automated report s…
