Crazy thought. If you revert the change, people can choose if they want to use the movement key or the weapon slot and it requires no options in NS2+!

Thanks man. It's much appreciated. Bast taught me a lot. The PTSD now stems from more recent events -
Yeah, the numbers are better than last year. But considering last year there were 6 months (30 Jan-30 July) without any updates because the CDT didn't have a build machine, I don't think the numbers look that great if you really want to make a fair …

This was the first game where I put in an absurd amount of hours in multiple aspects of it: mapping, coding and competitive play. A huge chunk of my time here has been in competitive, and I feel that helped a lot my work in this game, I never even t…

The problem with the font change is fonts were re-rendered but with new sizes (and I'm confident this wasn't intentional), the fonts being bitmaps, changing the size, it affects everything that uses text in the game. So now, all th… -
Is general discussion the place for this? Shouldn't this be in the I&S forum?

There was no change in vanilla, I had to update NS2+ so it worked that way. -

That doesn't make any sense. NS2+ doesn't change the gamemode to NS2+. The reason for people not seeing servers after a patch is that it takes a bit until most servers upgrade and the ones that update the fastest get populated fast… -

Maybe it's because if you don't have the mod mounted they all show up as "NS2". Or maybe it's because the NS2+ changes to the server browser display both NS2 and NS2+ servers under the NS2 filter.
What were you trying t… -
(Quote) If you set the nameplates style to Bars only it won't display the destination, because it only displays the bars (ie. no text).

The tracer setting is first person only, you still see other player's tracers, I should have specified that I guess. -

This would be a valid point if NS2+ was just options, however, there's extra features and QoL stuff in there. The most obvious to players are the stats, then there's things that might seem like they are in vanilla but are not, like… -
Because of limitations in how sensitivity is handled in the game, when you use the team specific sensitivities function in NS2+ it overwrites your "vanilla" sensitivity, so if you had it enabled and then turned it back off it has probably overwritte…

Low lights option is in vanilla, in the graphics tab. If you mean NSL lights, that was renamed to high performance lights.

NS2+ is back up.

If you don't know the reason, why even post stuff like this? -
(Quote) You assume this is about being or not in the PDT and then base the rest of your post in that. It's not about that, if you had read anything you'd know this.
I was more than happy doing work in the CDT, for free.

Any good story needs good villains I guess. It's good to ignore all the stuff getting in the way of a good narrative. Like the part where one cyst making an entire room dark is a problem, and was actually acknowledged by McGlaspie,… -

I'm just guessing here, but considering they're playing without NS2+, it's more about mods than it is about comp itself. I mean, they can't play with NSL/Compmod if they wanted, but they can play with NS2+ and they chose not to... … -

We were playing with CHUD (which eventually became NS2+), however. So not exactly vanilla. And a NSL mod variant with the NS2WC rosters, because actual tournament support has never been in the game. -

While I could easily make the feature work better in a competitive environment (and a pub one, I dare say) and even offer a complete rollback toggle through NS2+, I already stated I stopped work on NS2+ (and the reasons are out the… -

The decrease in performance started happening before the new lights, and of course it makes no sense to pretend a performance downgrade is fine. -

To be honest, I prefer this to the awful red lights. You couldn't see ANYTHING with the super plain lighting with zero contrast of the red lighting. -
(Quote) This worked beautifully in NS1, you could hear your own pain sounds, which varied depending on damage taken.

- Added doerLocation and doerPosition to certain kills in the KillFeed table for exported stats to support proper positions for turrets, whips, hydras, etc.

I didn't say anything about elo not making sense on a small player base.
I did say that it's stupid to argue about hive while it uses a single number for all 4 roles (marine, alien, and both comms).
And if it did that, it can… -

First of all, in the sound tab you can set the volume for hitsounds. It's set to 0 by default.
If you play in a server with NS2+ (most of the servers are running it), in the NS2+ options, you can go to the sound tab and… -
I don't know why people argue so much about this topic, the basic concept is flawed because it's based around the idea that players have the same skill (or impact in a round) as aliens and marines, doesn't take into account how much/if they command,…

NS2+ has never been part of the CDT scope, that's always been my own thing, and still is. Unless you mean the merging of numerous NS2+ features and improvements into vanilla, which did happen during the CDT period. Although in the …
