So funny, I finnaly upgraded to an nvidia card, seriously in part because I assumed this bug was never getting fixed (13+ months?).
Two weeks after I installed it... Lol

Is there any news related to this? Is there a defect being tracked somewhere - any hope of a fix?

Ah - should have mentioned from the beginning - the framerate is fine on the title screen. I only observe the slowdown when in-game.
