In case you guys haven't seen the other thread, the problem is actually related to stable kernel 3.12 which apparently the devs haven't bothered to test. We need to wait on them to fix this problem. Until then, run the linux-lts kernel.

If you check the other threads, you will see that Intel integrated is not supported and that its use is discouraged for NS2. Even if it did run, its performance would be abysmal. You should see whether you can get a proper graphics card.

So we essentially need to wait for a major distro to make the move to 3.12 so that it becomes a problem for more users so that suddenly it becomes are necessity to fix this problem? Why not fix it now? It will *eventually* be a problem for everyone,…

@Confused: Could you test this now?

This is essentially the same problem as in the other thread. Out of memory. After being out of memory, it can fail at the very next allocation, where ever that may be. Thus, the stacktraces obviously don't match and they also don't have to.

Could we get a dev on this? This is either a bug in the kernel or the game and should be solved either way.
-
Which drivers are you using? Which kernel? Did you reboot since the last kernel update?

I could reproduce the results stated by omer666. linux-lts works.
-
Could you test 3.12 real quick for us? That would be a good way to progress on this bug.

Likely because you behave like an entitled asshole. Why not be nice to the developers and assume they want to help you?
You are giving the rest of us a bad name.
