A game (especially a game like this) should be cool-as-fuck, should have atmosphere, should be brutal. Having marines prance around like balerina's does not help with that. That's my viewpoint, deal with it.:p
No reason to mark that post as abuse. I think it's about time fps designers make a 'tabula rasa' with the past and re-evalute what works. Progress! Science!
Having an UT-like dodge would be way more interesting and visually appealing as compared to the ancient, now obsolete jump-1-meter-vertically-in-the-air.

Me too, it's just that the concepts that worked for 15 year old arena shooters might not be a good fit for a game that tries to create a believable atmosphere.
The ability for humans to jump ridiculous heigts is a relic form the ancient fps days (Quake 1). UWE needs to let go of this ancient concept if it wants to move forwards, IMO. Marines jumping around like fairies is never a good thing.
Whatever the effect on balance may be, marines jumping around like fairies isn't exactly helping the atmosphere. I'd say severely nerf jumping height/frequency, and balance from there.
