Nice new playthings - but the beacon now buzzing and clicking is pretty nervegrinding when you've put them next to your bases as markers.
At first I was thinking my jukebox was broken until I figured it's the beacon in Subnautica: Below Zero Salad Days Update - Subnautica Comment by Warvis June 2020 -
This could be a nice opportunity for a scanner room enhancement, showing every built scanner's area in a single 2d-map, plus beacons.
Bonus points if you can manage the beacons right on that map in Glacial basin landmarks/mapping system Comment by Warvis June 2020 -
I disagree.
- The creatures in Subnautica are animals, and not FPS-suicide-demons:
They mistake you for food or attack because of a territorial defense impulse, but wouldn't waste energy by chasing an intruder that tastes like a mouthful…

My initial impression is, that Below Zero will provide the same great early-access experience as Subnautica did, minus the fear that it may end up in alpha-hell like some other EA titles I had during Subnautica development.

This is awesome - an aquarium next to a replicator module is like a mobile underwater gourmet kitchen.
Storage-wise it's a bit underwhelming, with a storage module storing just little more than a wall locker. It's not so much a mobile base lik… -
The teethfarm is awesome, and I like the small office design!
I only skimmed the story at first (didn't expect a long read), but the pics made me go back to read: I has its lengthy parts, but the ending is pretty nice, an almost classical "sci… -
My headcanon is that the beam consists of some kind of guided or homing nano-sized projectiles.
When the Sunbeam is shot down, the emitted beam propagates visibly slower than light while it reaches out to the ship (barely visible, but you can … -
The "void" is outside the crater, where the water gets this distinctive dark blue tint (so you know you're leaving the "game map").

As the ancient saying goes: "Best way to avoid bite is not being there" - I prefer the speed of the ultraglide fins.

I'd call that image highly deceptive - it almost makes it look like it's a fun thing to discover new creatures from the safety of a vehicle.
It does in no way reflect the sheer horror and pant soiling panic that comes with the first encounter … -
(Quote) I understand the urge for people do share their own experience, but likewise I demand the right to have my own experience:

(Quote) I've never had this happen to me in Subnautica, there were always things that I wanted to do - and unlike some other games, there never was this feeling of "what's best to do next to get the most out of it" that would've made me spoil my …

OTOH, I like the seamless surface above, so I can sit right above a pool of sandsharks like an evil underwater villain.
If hatches, then please without some fixtures breaking the surface when unbuilt.

(Quote) Interesting, I remember when walking with the PRAWN all the way into the gun's main ramp room (from the moonpool) and then exiting, you were still im swim-mode and could swim freely around inside the gun... However, that was some versions…

(Quote) Unfortunately it's not used that way: It's presented as an effect of the avatar's (or your own, if you prefer) vision, regardless if they're looking through a medium that may actually cause a refraction of this kind (cam lenses, water/air…

Nice update, I'm also happy to see there's not just visual stuff being tweaked (beside the bugfixes).

I used a savegame to check. That savegame has a seamoth with a locker module (the suspected culprit for causing laggy seamoths) and reproducably caused the lag when moving around in the seamoth up to right before the update (with other side effects …

(Quote) Ah, you mean the invisible PDA? Undocking the seamoth/prawn from the cyclops and entering through the hatch works for me, but you're right, it's pretty annoying (also, entering/exiting a base helps...although only for a short while).

Oh,, they can be turned off now?
I was switching to experimental a week ago but switched back because I found them waay too big: I have a bout 20 or so beacons scattered at points of interest, and at some positions about 10 o…Another thing I've noticed is that when I dock the seamoth in the cyclops, the lagging remains for about a minute and then goes back to smooth for a while, then lags again for a couple of seconds - this repeats in more or less irregular intervals.See 37688-fps-reduction-with-holding-seamoth-storage-upgrade
I also suffer from seamoth slowness, but…Also, tiger plants like to shoot their spikes at base structures, if they're in range, and might cause leaks over time...Isn't it possible to repair both Seamoth and Prawn from the open hatch on top?
Edit:
I was wrong, apparently it's not possible. (Not anymore? I was thinking I repaired it like that once, even though the popup reads 'Enter ...').
There seems to be a variation of this bug: I parked the Cyclops in the gun-base moonpool, left via docked PRAWN suit, walked with the suit through the corridors into the main stairway - there, I exited the PRAWN and was still in water-mode: I could …
