I've noticed that, but I've also noticed American players are far more social/likely to use voice comms during a match. On some EU servers it can be deathly quiet while playing.

Factions as a standalone, free to play game on steam would be fantastic, both in getting new players interested in NS2 and also providing a platform to play Factions. I really enjoyed that mod, but haven't seen it being played very much.
I would rather play on a server full of intelligent jerks that know what they are doing than on a server full of nice noobs that giggle each time they make the same mistakes over and over.
This is why we need more servers with higher ski…I would rather see the GL have a fixed ammo pool. That way the noobs that sit at the entrances to corridors spamming grenades endlessly would be wasting their pres each time.
