This is amazing! Well done to everyone involved. We had tried the auto-jump and queued jump stuff in private testing, would be interested to hear how the players find it.

Okay, will do.

I can play away, but as soon as I die the game locks up. ns2_linux is using 100% of one core and X is entirely unresponsive.

Great news, excited to see what you guys do with NS2.

You don't need AvHNexusServer. Nexus was never completed, and can can be removed from the code until such a time as you want to implement it properly ( never? )
So I'd go and just zap all references to AvHNexus from the code on your fo… -
https://github.com/puzl/NS I forked UWE's repository and got the /main version of the code building for linux.

If I get some time in the next week I'll try to tidy things up a little. The repository is very useful as it includes all of the development history of NS1 from 3.0 on.
What I'd like to do is fork this into a new repo… -
The licensing issues can be sorted out... the intention is to fully open source the NS1 code.. there will be some limitations where code that isn't (C) UWE is used, but I wouldn't hold back on any of your personal plans for this code due to licensin…

So was the SDK update ever released by Valve?
I spoke to them back when this topic was new, and they said they were going to updating the SDK to allow building on Linux and OSX, but I haven't seen anything since. Admittedly, I haven't b… -

Natural Selection 2: Mutated
A more efficient engine, a more streamlined game design, and tonnes of new content, all based on community participation to produce the next step in the evolution of Natural Selection 2!

Actually an old saying, and somewhat true, in that, many countries do ban elections, or criminalise opposition, because, they do in fact change things - sometimes even for the better.

Should private behaviour between two consenting adults be legalised? Is that what you are really asking?

Yeah, well, I consider Anarcho-Capitalism to be on the fringe of libertarianism and Austrian economics in general, but my point still stands. Most libertarians admit that there are common assets and goods that need to be maintaine… -
It is so easy to call it stealing money from one person to give it to someone else, but that is to call all taxation and collective programs stealing, which is completely ridiculous and divisive.

i suck at starcraft 2 but it is the game I have played the most in the last 10 years with the exception of NS1. I keep going back to it because I have been stuck in the top of a platinum league for ever and every season I finish in the top 5 of my…

Monkfish, I think you have it the wrong way around. You can not make money speculating on something stable.. it has to fluctuate for you to be able to buy for less than what it is worth, and sell for more than what you paid.Th…I'm sure many people wonder why their favourite independent bands aren't more popular when idiots like one direction are selling out stadia all over the world. Why is Glee more popular then Breaking Bad?To me, these are the sa…At the time it was clear to us that NS1 was under steep decline around the time WOW was released. We tried our best to turn it around with 3.x releases, but at best we managed to hold steady against the trend. That in itself is a worthy achieveme…(Quote)
I can't make an progress until we resurrect the original NS1 sources from source control. Looking at that repo anyway, it is just HL SDK 2.3, which is years old and doesn't provide anything for building on the new platforms anyway…Okay, so I had a quick look at this tonight just to get an idea of what is involved. I tried to build on my ubuntu gaming laptop and had to install a fairly old version of gcc just to get past a few gazillion compile errors due to changes in C++ o…It should be really straight forward to port ns1 to linux. We have previously ported all OS calls to their steam equivalent years ago when we had ns1 installing over steam. I still have ns1 source, but don't have a working build system.
