I know, I just mentioned the legal stuff because folks are often quite ignorant to what using a site actually means and I figured that would at least help quell the "OMG SUE" momentum that seemed to be building... as well as potent… -
In my experience the best RP in games not intended for it is all about the roleplayers, not the maps or mods. Mods in particular can certainly add some interesting features, but that often ends up just being a frustration or a detraction from what i…

Regarding the use of NS2+ features in vanilla, it falls under the following within the Terms of Use:

The wording is (like pretty much all legal documents) vague and all-encompassing, and NS2+ absolutely fits into that threshold… -
It's internal, it doesn't matter.

I use a desktop. Heating isn't too much of an issue for me as I do have decent circulation, fans, and heatsinks. The lack of a faster HDD is part of the loading problem, though obviously everything needs an upgrade at this point.

I'd upgrade if I could, but I'm broke these days so it'll be quite awhile before I can feel comfortable spending the cash to do so. I'm on an old i7 920, 8gb RAM, 560Ti. It works, but not great. The 5-15+ minute load times are the big killer for me …

It's amazing how exact your experiences were to mine (though I'm in my 30s so I was a bit older when I played, for whatever that's worth in Nostalgic thoughts from a player that started more than a decade ago Comment by sickboy September 2015

Very glad to hear Shadow Issue 2000: The Shadow-ening is on your radar. My brother had mentioned weird ways to work with ambient occlusion to achieve the desired shadowing effects in caves since Unity 4.x is a pain in the butt lighting-wise, though …

@MycroftCanadaNS: Agreed. I'm pretty blown away with how much changes each day. I love in-development games, and this is the first I've ever experienced that i…

I'm having this same problem. -
Very nice! This will absolutely make the world feel more alive, while adding some spice and variation to movement patterns. Definitely a fantastic step in the right direction!

Unfortunately, I don't think lobbying will do much to sway a significant enough number in the gaming populace these days. Gaming got popular, and with it came a lot of people that don't really see or care about the magic that the f… -
bonage, I think you may be underestimating the laziness of your average consumer and the impact a few vocal people can have. At most, people (not everyone, but a very large number) will take a quick glance at Steam/etc. reviews, barely read them, an…

The thing is, it's not just "Lol the internet"... this is lives and livelihoods being impacted by people on crusades of entitlement, ego, and hive-mindedness. Some would say "don't take it seriously or to heart", but try being the … -
I actually like this mechanic. It gives some interesting ways to control your movement. Plus I use it to speed glitch. If you position your view properly, and use the proper directional key *and* ascend/descend key, you end up doubling your speed. I…

I wouldn't be sad if the ability to do this was left in for awhile, by the way. It's a very fun and silly way to re-explore areas.... or if I'm being honest to how I actually use it: driving around in circles for hours just because I can.
I got thrown into space by this bug, hopped out of the seamoth, and just floated as the seamoth flew onwards... to a new life with a new family. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Very enjoyable bug. That is precisely why I'm so afraid of (and fascinated with) the ocean. That's the kind of stuff my mind's eye sees when I look into the murky abyss. And even if it was friendly (ala whales and the like), it's the scale that is so terrifying. I'm go…Very, very awesome. There's something magical about watching the pieces all come together in a project like this. Thank you for the transparency, now I have something else to check 50+ times a day!(Quote)
Actually, several do. You can search to find out more about them. Also, no harm in making it fantastical... from what I understand, Subnautica isn't intended to be a realism simulator. As usual, a pleasure to watch! Also happens to be my favorite caster pairing, so great all around. On a side note, thank you soooo much UWE for going for Linux support. I know we're a minority, but as a gamer that would love to be able to switch to …(Quote)
Even then, there really isn't a reason to allow it in my mind. The server list isn't so overwhelming that finding another server that's part of a 'hub' is difficult, and it's really just a bait and switch tactic. I understand letti…I still get it with every single play session. Sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes after an hour or two.
