THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME. I'm watching it right now. I suggest you do the same.

I think part of what is making this movie so good is that it's telling a story.. And it has the freedom of an R rating to tell it in full, as well as parallel to an authentic WW2 setting. Really enjoying this.

    i'm on guard duty, and can't go anywhere much less out to the movies. so i resort to devilish and shameless methods for movie watching.

    Man.. I posted while I was only about halfway through the movie. There's so much sadness as the story comes closer to the end. I don't think I've watched such a sad movie since the Pianist or Schindler's List, and those are both about the holocaust..

    At any rate, amazing film. The best I've watched recently, bar none.

    I think I got lucky. I didn't watch any of the ads, and had no expectations other than it being a good movie. It more than exceeded those.

    What makes a disturbing and sad movie a "Bad" movie. From what I hear, it's a VERY good movie at BEING a very bad movie... how does that make it a bad movie?

    I think I've confused myself.

    In any case. I am REALLY looking forward to watching this in the theatre, but I am having a hell of a time making the time to do so.

    Awesome movie, very artistic and well put together.

    I love how everythings colurful and quite child-like in presentation up until the first violent scene, which was just plain brutal, wasnt expecting it at all. From then on the mood of it just completly changes as the movie just gets sadder and sadder, sooo well done.

    I just finished watching this utter disappointment. There was hardly any of the mysticism that the previews showed; half of the movie delt with the Nazi crap, and it turned out to be more interesting though it didn't have much of a story other than "Nazi's in the woods, militia in the woods."

The characters didn't change at all, well the Captain became a p*ssy at the end, and I hardly cared for them. Ofelia for instance is just a kid with a vivid imagination who screws up her own <i>imaginary</i> plots(Which is like being unable to get laid in your dreams), and gets killed at the end. Doesn't even matter since you see her dead in the beginning of the film. So you're expecting a lot of disappointment from her right of the bat.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

    Im happy i didnt see any trailer and saw the movie without knowing anything. The spanish came as a pleasant surprise. The dissapointments ive read of this movie are basicly written in the same sense as Liku. And i can understand why. The title is quite misleading, and the trailer clearly markets it as a quite different movie now looking at it. But gotta say, this is a fantasy labeled movie and its not supposed to BE THE CRAP REAL. If you had a view from the trailer that this was about reality..then you got another think coming.

    The movie is in spanish. All the theater versions have english subtitles.

    Well they aren't Nazis but it is WWII era (irc) and it does deal with the spanish civil war (whatever it's called, I don't know history).
