I never was supervised unless i was in a public place when i was growing up in the late 80's and 90's, i was always free to ride my bike wherever i wanted to, and when i got my dirtbike, i would ride it miles and miles away from home and go fishing with it. Of course it lead me to be outdoors savvy till i was about 12 or 13 and started playing the pc a lot, but i still enjoy going outside. I can understand in the city though, theirs so many weirdos out there that gps could be a good idea if it allowed parents to let their kids out freely so they could find them incase of an emergency.
