I'd gladly play against stacked teams every once in a while compared to being banned from every single NS server in existance.
All this ranting about stacks and scripts and ###### gets real old. Myself and many other people have better reasons to rant but don't because we realize it's pointless because of the terrible state that public NS is in. You guys should do the same.
I don't refer people by their handles. You click options, change it, Smood has turned into Makalevi. SteamID is your fingerprint. So thanks, but my intention was not to ban anybody. Instead, perhaps someone could recognize this group as a part of some clan.
Well, if you want to ignore me go ahead. If you can't handle the heat, just run.
So again, a clanner can bring a challenge to a server. However, when stacking occurs, OBVIOUS stacking that involves insults and taunts to the losing team, it kills the game. Yes, we know you are good. Yes we know you control who wins. In that situation, you might as well have random on. That's what the admin at BAD did. However, once he left, it was stacking again and again.
That and that BS about intentionally stacking, to clear the server. Wow, pubs are for everyone. You see some clanners leave because they might lose a round. You see them leave because they are being digested and rejoin the server.
I don't see what is it about pubs that makes it pointless. You join a random group of people to beat another random group of people. That's what it should be "random". If you can have it so both teams are fairly similar in skill, you can have close games.
Remember all the rants about shorter games? Well, close games help solve that, in a good way.

OH. So pubs really aren't about teaming up with the people that you know and trust. Nope, pubs are apparently all about hard work where you derive gratification from long grimy games where each team is balanced for badness, so that it is difficult to achieve any objective with dumbell teammates.
I just want to add that stacking isn't some "clanner" phenomena that only ###### do. Nearly every pub I've ever played at has stacking (excluding TGNS because of the auto-randomizxer, but that's a different story). The thing is that people who stack are always friends of sorts, and when you get a clan of friends, this clan will be good and thus together they will be good. Community based stacks, on the other hand, don't have as-good players, so you take less notice of them. If you try to ban stacking, you will need to seperate community-personA and community-personB just as much as you need to seperate competetive-personA and competetive-personB.

Well when does stacking by bad players make a difference?
And yes I realize it's by a group of friends that probably use LAN or ventrillo to coordinate...
The only way to reduce it is to randomize the players or run some people-placement system blackhawk runs...
If anyone constantly downplays pub, why do they even join it then? Some people play casually for fun. Games aren't about "training" to get better for everyone. Hop in and have a good time.

I like to see how many kills I can get as fade without using blink in pubs. You can manage 60 in any 20 minute game easily.
If you drop offense chambers 15 rounds in a row, you're a lovable gorge powar guy!!~1 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pudgy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::gorge::" border="0" alt="pudgy.gif" />

So wtf do you suggest we do Croozn. Quit playing? Whatever team a good player joins is going to be stacked when every other single person is terrible. What should we do in that situation? Purposely be bad? You're probably like all the server admins out there, and don't know what to do. In which case, you just ban the good player for hacking even when you know he isn't. Cool story.

There isn't anything narcissistic or pedantic about what he posted. Most pubbers are always a liability. And those that are completely clueless are the ones that end up on the wrong side of the stack.
What do I suggest Mak? I've already told you. If you want to play with your buddies and happen to be pretty good, go play on your 6v6 private servers. No harm done.
But when you join a server and see 3 of your buddies on marines, do us a favor and join aliens. Do that so the game won't end in 1 minute when one of your guys already has com core/fusion hive/cargo/ventilation locked down by himself. Do that so the game doesn't spiral into spawn-camping/mine-spamming/hive-electrifying end games. And why don't you knock off all the snide remarks against players that aren't as good as you are? Make the conditions ideal for someone else to play.
You whine about how pubs are getting worse and how the comp scene is dying (dead). Well, what are you doing about it? You think stacking and mocking other players makes them want to play? Quite the opposite here.
Let me give you an article I read on today's EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly). Or rather, it's the letter from the editor-in-chief.
<!--QuoteBegin-Dan Hsu of EGM+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Dan Hsu of EGM)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->ONLINE SUFFERING
It made us miserable, yet we kept going back for more. The Halo 3 beta was a nightly exercise in masochism for many gamers-so many of you have complained about the unusually tough competition. In the May 18 edition of the 1UP Yours podcast, we discussed how strange it was that the game industry is moving toward a more accessibility to draw in a wider audience, yet online gaming (shooters, in particular) is still the territory of high-caliber players who like to keep newbies respawning more than playing.
The following features aren't new, but makers of competitive games should have them all if they want to keep their products for more than just the hardcore:
Bots. Customizable AI controlled oppoonents ease neophytes into deathmatches before they have to deal with the real thing. Winning is a confidence booster!
Map tutorials. Sure we can load up an offline map for a solo tour, but wouldn't a developer-guided walkthrough be more helpful? It can point out the strategic spots, where to find weapons, and more.
Smarter matchmaking. Xbox Live is supposed to match players of similar skill, from similar zones, but the lack of a critical mass of players to support so many subsets means you'll inevitable face off against that terror of a Halo player who prefers gunplay to girls. Games should warn you of this and let you opt out of matchmaking that expands its search criteria to find enough participants (better to play with a few folks on your skill level and some bots than to have a piss-poor time getting owned). And don't forget to use a Xbox Live's player feedback. Most people don't realize they can use it to avoid players just based on their skills alone, regardless of their online behavior.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Not everybody has the patience to die 50 times and come back for more. Of the options, I think matchmaking is the most important. But I know that it's not as possible in NS. What I'm saying is that perhaps it could be a duty of the better players to join the weaker team to make games close. That's the point.
Like I said fatman, if you are a clanner go ahead and play. But when there's a group of yourselves, split yourself on different teams. It has nothing to do against crusading against clanners and removing them from the earth. But acting like a jerk and mocking lesser players doesn't help your reputation either.

You know as well as I do that at a third of the time somebody gorges, the first thing they drop is an OC. How many commanders on pubs don't spend 120 res on electrification and turrets to lockdown something? Or perhaps a better question to ask is, how many players on an average team will respond to alien pushes in a timely manner that would enable the commander to not have to rely on turrets?
In the end, your objections aren't really of what I say, but rather how I say it.

I think its about time he posts some pictures of himself without a shirt on again.
god, are you always going to be "on" with your tiresome pedantry and narcissism?
seriously, nigh every comment you bother to post serves only to belittle someone or something and to support your own self-styled sense of superiority.
you're not even that good, but that's besides the point; that haughty attitude is neither welcome nor enjoyed by any human being

And am I wrong? The 2/19 skulk on the bottom of the team that slowly walks towards marines down long hallways the entire game isn't a liability? The marine who starts shooting the empty hive while it's going up before other marines can phase through isn't a liability? You know as well as I do that at a third of the time somebody gorges, the first thing they drop is an OC. How many commanders on pubs don't spend 120 res on electrification and turrets to lockdown something? Or perhaps a better question to ask is, how many players on an average team will respond to alien pushes in a timely manner that would enable the commander to not have to rely on turrets?
In the end, your objections aren't really of what I say, but rather how I say it.
