A young boy leaking an unidentified fluid? (Yes, that was bad, I know.)
Just remember, when the last HP book came out, there was a ban on any spoilers for a month. Personally, I'll be doing the same with this book, and carrying over any 'throwaway account' bans to the poster's main account, if they turn out to be a regular here. We don't need that kind of crap; our community members should know better.
Que that annoying popup ad for emoticons: "OH MY GOSH, NO WAY!"
well photobucket was made to remove images of the book - I've seen them on other websites as well and there is indeed a pdf of all those images on various torrent sites. To be honest though, you're just ruining it for yourself if you read from it. It's overly bright and the text is washed out partially, and you don't get any of the reading pleasure from holding the book in your hand.
oh yea, and it's illegal. It's not remotely expensive... just wait 3 days <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

The content isn't even the important part, it's the flagrant disregard for both the moderators' request and forum goers it concerns. It wasn't stickied that you shouldn't have that in particular in your sig or wherever else, although granted it's obvious you shouldn't but it's not exactly spoiler information so to speak. You can read spoilers and still have the intention of purchasing the book that was ruined when it becomes legal to do so.
As for not expecting to find spoilers in here, obviously considering the threat was a perma ban for posting that ###### *before* the subsequent posts I thought no one would be so much of an expletive-deletive as to post things like that. It wasn't even about the content of the leak until people moved it in that direction, it was innocuous until made otherwise.
I really don't care if he gets banned or not, it's not the end of the world. I only said that in the heat of the moment, considering this topic is something I'm more inclined to care about than hex codes.

Also the difference is this: If you reveal how a very long series of books ends, you blow most of the point of actually READING it, especially if there is a good amount of build up, and the ending is unexpected.
If you reveal the ending of EP2 or Portal, you ruin a rather limited story, or what is likely going to be a gag (from what we have seen of Portal, I expect nothing more then for the ending to be funny, in a depressing sorta way). However, playing the game is STILL fun.
A more accurate comparison would be to ask if bans will be handed out for spoiling the next FF game, where a large portion of playing is just to see the story.
Any way, spoiling something that a lot of people are looking forward to shows just pure maliciousness. Like taking candy from a little kid. Sure, it isn't really that 'bad', but it shows what type of character some one has. Personally I am glad to see people with that type of personality go.

Dr. Fuzzy hasn't been banned yet, so he got a warning most likely due to the fact that he did say that he didn't notice the rules yet(The rules were stickied the same day he mentioned spoilers).
It isn't ridiculous for having a "Zero tolerance on spoilers" rule on the NS forums. It's not like they're telling you that only admins and mods can use vowels in their sentences and whoever misspells words will get perma banned.
The rule is no where near outrageous or anything, it's completely understandable.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Would the same thing apply to games? Will bans be handed out for spoiling the end of Episode 2 or Portal? I don't see how these bans are justified.

It's just something called respect for other people. Sure, you may not mind spoilers, but that doesn't mean others don't mind them.
