I've *maybe* already been spoiled, but I hope they were wrong.
Personally I thought it was hilarious when YTMND had a pic of a bookstore then audio with "Hey everyone! Snape kills Dumbledore!" "OH you ###### bast4rd!!" on the old book.
Also when the guy in "cast away" got the old book and then a airplane came with a sign which said "snape kills dumbledore" and he gets so pissed he throws the book out in the sea.

While she may not be the next ######ens or Kerouac, she is a good writer. I'm guessing you haven't been keeping up with the series, either, since the later books are pretty dark. They're hardly children's books.

I much prefer some of the adult covers, though I've got most of the kids ones <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
what makes the hp series mildly interesting is that its one big book published in 7 chapters. but because theres (at least) 7 years between the first and the last book, both j.k. rowling and her audience have grown. the first book was aimed at kids about the same age as harry was featured to be, and the readers have gotten older at about the same pace as the characters. rowling's writing technique has obviously also gotten more mature, either she predicted this pattern or she sort of just learned to write better over time

just finished reading it - thought it was definitely one of, if not the best of the series. Although I have to say that large portions of the book, more so the middle, felt superfluous. It was the last 200 pages that made it all worth while. Enjoy everyone :)

Also just finished it.. We should have a spoiler approved thread where we could discuss it... Esuna's spoiler turned out to be bigger than drfuzzy's...
Enforcer, I agree with you about the slow pace of the middle, however the last 200 pages werent all "good", it had it highs and ups. Book 2-4 were way better overall.

Yep we need such a thread. And also a thread were those of us who never read a single HP book and only know parts of the story from the movies and the internet can "guess" possible endings:
Let me start:
Harry sacrifices his life to save his love/friend killing himself and Voldemort (sp?)
Harry dies, evil triumphs (unlikely)
Dumbledore comes back and saves the day.
Snape kills Voldemort (aka: the Star Wars Ending <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)
Voldemort kills himself through a backfiring spell.
One of the minor characters kills Voldemort.
Harries parants come back to life and save the day.
The book ends with a HUGE cliffhanger. (It was time for Harry to face Voldemort for the last time. The End! Buy the next book for 40$)
