Probably going to be a trailer of about 5 seconds in 160x120@5fps or something, like that last "screenshot" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I'm seriously tempted to get the game now that I've seen that. I had very strong doubts as to whether or not 10 years would make a difference but I guess I've been prooved wrong. The last 10 seconds or so had me a bit giddy.
Although, all said, Nukem's always been about the tongue-in-cheek humour and overblown blowing-up-of-stuff. Airplane! is just as funny today as it was 10 years ago, isn't it?
but it's just some homoerotic footage of him pumping iron <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> teaser shmeaser. would be cool if they actually are finally making the game though. do we have any clue why it's taking them so long? I mean, is 3D realms a company of like 2 people such that it actually takes them 10+ years to develop a game?
That would be so awesome if it were true that i'm just going to pretend it is from now on.
To quote some guy called "Chris B" from Wired,
<!--QuoteBegin-Chris B+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Chris B)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->If they're trying to be over-the-top, they failed. The bar has been raised so much in the last ten years for gruff, laconic, absurdly musclebound hypermacho game heroes that this just feels stale. I think their best bet is to push it into parody, as if Duke Nukem was an Austin Powers figure, transported from the hair metal era and completely out of sync with the times.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
... which honestly is what i'm hoping they're going for. I just don't think Duke will have aged well as a character if we're meant to take him totally seriously.
*edit* Also, has Duke always looked that much like Bruce Willis?

That could be amusing. It would be like Arnold Schwarzenegger meets Bruce Willis meets Joe Dirt. At least in my little world.
BTW, The forum spell checker recognizes "Schwarzenegger" as a word.
Their best bet is to push it into parody? You mean Duke isn't already half parody? I though it was pretty clear since, oh, even BEFORE the game where all the men were killed by aliens and Duke had to singlehandedly repopulate the world by boning a bunch of hot chicks that he's not supposed to be taken seriously. Maybe it was around the time where the enemies were literally pigs and policemen at the same time, or when you got a shrink gun that turned people tiny so you could squish them, or when the enemy poop was a health powerup, or when he cracked cheesy one liners all the time, or when you could hit spacebar to throw dollar bills at strippers...
Gears of War is what macho looks like when they take it seriously. Duke Nukem is not meant to be taken seriously.
Is misunderimpressed a word? Because that pretty much describes this. I have no excitement at all for this game, I doubt it's bringing anything new to the table. It just looks like generic-alien-shooter-with-nex-gen-graphics.

Duke was about the one liners and whatnot; just general over-the-top style.

I just can't see this game having anything more going for it then nostalgia.

Duke Nukem 3d wasn't over the top. It was a very well done game, and yeah, it had some new stuff, but it wasn't like OHMYGOD DID THEY JUST DO THAT. I mean plenty of games back then had half naked women, or all naked women. Duke3ds chicks were actually far less mutilated than you generally saw in games. Those were freer days.
The Duke has always been over the top, that's why it was great <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
"It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all outta gum."
Duke Nukem was the first FPS I ever played, it'll always have a place in my heart no matter how cheesy it was. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Horribly letdown by the teaser, looks like they will fall behind on the engine again..for the 20th time. Which means another 10-15 years to be teased with the thought that it MIGHT make it.

Edit: nevermind, someone made it their desktop and thought their desktop was so cool they should host a picture of it on imageshack

The screen seems promising, but I don't know if I still would buy the game.

How can anyone <i>not</i> love the Duke?
