To those that hate on stuff to be cool: Put a sock in it. Or I'll do it for you. Except with a brick inside the sock. With force.

I was never really a fan of the duke, I was more of a doom/wolfenstein/ROTT/hexen/heretic/tribes kinda kid when it came to FPS games. I didn't really play it until about... 2000. Still, I'm looking forward to a game that combines funny with shooty. The serious sam games were a tonne of fun so I'm thinking along a similar vein for DNF.

So to answer your question lolfighter, yes. Most of the people in this thread. They've been working on the damn thing since forever (M I RITE? lol), so i'd like to think they have something which is at the very least not a complete pile of poo by the end of it. Plus its Duke.

Yeah, I'm lookingforward to it. I'm tired of macho crap like Gears of War taking itself seriously. Duke Nukem isn't afraid to play the muscleman card for what he is: a ridiculously strong person who makes zero sense at all. There's no "destroyed beauty" here. It's juse Duke, chicks, aliens, and guns. And rock music.

Seriously guys CMON! I remember the same discussion about Half-Life 2; noone had faith in Valve to do a repeat of Half-Life in terms of game enjoyment, but Half-Life 2 kicked everyone's (well, most peoples) ass when it was released.

Now it's 3D Realms' turn for the critical eye, although admittedly the stakes are higher because they're even slower than Valve. But I think that so long as they stick to their guns and have consistently stepped out to make a true DN3D sequel, then DNF will be a really special game.

Remember, history is cyclical, and DN3D is now history, and rocked. DNF? She'll be comin round the mountain...

I am sorry, but unless you are a Final Fantasy game then making a mostly cg teaser video is not longer 'cool'. Especially when it has been ten years since this game was first announced.

I'd hazard a guess and say it's not CG but in-game rendering, also (if you meant pre-rendered footage).

That first trailer crispy posted still looks more awesome. But if it's like that with better graphics, win.

its a mix between CG and in game footage, looks like theyare using unreal engine 2.5 or something like that.
ive been waiting 10 years or something like that for this sucker!

Development for the build engine also hasn't stopped btw. There is a Duke Nukem 3d <a href="http://hrp.duke4.net/media.php" target="_blank">Highres pack </a>available.
