It's quite reliable. The switching part, that is. It's not too hard to keep two people invulnerable. Getting the achievement may be buggy. Also, if you do this regularly, be aware that since a recent patch, this causes your übercharge to drain faster.
gotta say, I hate the new achievements. logged in, instantly got the 3 long-term healing achievements since I've logged 30 hours as medic already, got annoyed at how many other medics there were, tried to play normally as a medic like I usually do, didn't get any other achievements, got bored and quit.
I loved the old achievements. they didn't reward you with anything, and they were likely to unlock if you just played the game normally. only one I had to go out of my way to get was the one that required you to play with a full team on your friends list or whatever. all these medic achievements are contrived. I don't want to go out of my way to work with 3 medics to uber 3 people at the same time. I want to play the game like I normally do and have access to the new equipment.
that's one of the good things about battlefield. you can unlock a class' weapon just by playing the game normally. I never thought I'd ever say this, but EA knows something about game design that valve doesn't in this case =P
wish I got to use the console command before they blocked it so I'd at least get to try out the new weaps.

i think its actually kind of fun. it kind of unbalances things at the moment since everyone is trying to get these achievements, but consider when all the classes will have these achievements. they dont HAVE to be done, but its something fun to work towards, and its mostly geared towards the players who get bored with the game, it gives them something new.
I, for one, am one of those players. i hadnt played tf2 in months until this update, and now im playing it a lot. and hopefully by the time i start to get bored with it again there will be a new update on the way with new weapons for another class.
I think any achievement that rewards people for DOING IT WRONG is fail. For example, achievements rewarding medics for shooting people. If you shoot people a whole ######ing lot, that means you are NOT DOING YOUR JOB. What's next, an achievement for dying the most? Turn on FF and make an achievement for teamkilling?

Plenty of the new medic achievments happen if you just play normally. Like 3 ubers at a time. You don't have to cheat to get that achievment. Just get to a map with a chokepoint that you can't break through and save up some ubers. Happens all the time on larger severs if you just coordinate a bit.

i have 17 right now and the only one ive actually had to try to get was the taunt on someones body, and the 3 ubers on each other. but then coincidentally the same game that i got the 3 ubers there was a time where 3 medics all ubered each other on accident. true story.
Things like "You'll Feel A Little Prick." To put it in the words of the scout: Stupid, stupid, stupid. I've had a medic deploy an übercharge on a scout (me) when there was a perfectly viable pyro right next to me. I ask him wtf and he says "because you get an achievement." ###### that ######. Placebo Effect? I haven't experienced yet, but I can just see it: "Medic, use your übercharge!" "No way, I need five kills for my achievement!" It's in a single, ######ing life. That's NEVER going to happen unless you deliberately try. If it was just five enemies at five different times you'd get it sooner or later without really trying. Instead we actively encourage people to cripple themselves in a TEAM game. Repeatedly. Because boyo, you're NOT getting that one on your first attempt, I can promise you that. Again: Stupid, stupid, stupid.
I'm not sure what's worse, actually, this or "Does It Hurt When I Do This?" and "Peer Review." Okay, you'll get those automatically sooner or later. The former sooner, the latter later. But is it REALLY a good idea to encourage a support class, a healer, to pretend like he's a combat class? Not particularly. But it would help if people weren't futter ucking PILLOCKS and fall for it.
As far as I'm concerned, there is now a tenth class in TF2, the Me######. I don't need to tell you who they are.
someone needs to set up a server where everyone on both teams just takes turns getting one dude's achievements up =p "OK it's Joe's turn, let him bonesaw you to death, now 2 people uber at the same time as him, now let him uber a scout and let that scout get 3 kills, now let him win the round without killing anyone... etc.
I guess my biggest QQ is that I've already played the medic to death, and I'm kind of sick of it. I don't want to play the old medic to death all over again in order to unlock the changes to the class that I should have already earned -_-

Doesn't invalidate your point though. It's stupid that people will go for them just for the sake of getting them. Really it's a bad achievement.
What's this "uber" stuff you speak of in TF2? Is it like a special effect added on to your weapon/tool?...lol tool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

Aye, I farmed a bit yesterday but still lack most of the hard ones (feel like a prick, 10k heal in one life and others). There are quite many servers just devoted to this cause. Getting a team of 6 (on one side at least) and still getting everyone works towards achivements, will be hard. Still in tho.
Btw, didn't they say there was a tradeoff for each new unlock? So they wouldn't automaticly be better then everything else? The "blautsauger" (bloodsucker) dosn't have any and the 20% slower firing rate on ubersaw isn't enough, the medic is 2nd fastest in the game and could just back away the extra 0,2second to swing again.

I do believe it was a chance of getting a random achivement the player you killed had, rather then getting his new equipment.
The Blutsauger can't crit. It doesn't matter either way, medics are still grist for the mill if they delude themselves into thinking they're a combat class.
Same. Assuming Valve didn't give them the smackdown, I envy the people who used the console command. TF2 shouldn't be about unlocking stuff. I'm up for a farming session.

heh, I was a prick last night.
joined a server that I like b/c it had a few player (I assumed it was the regs seeding), only to walk in on 3 people just sitting there doing random medic achievement crap, one was obviously trying to get saw bones so I figured, hell with it I will help him, let him hit me once or twice. On the 5th one and he didn't get the achievement I figured they were idiots, got bored, scatter gunned the 2 medics and left. What had actually ticked me off was I eventually realized they were all on some random TS server and had chosen a random unpopulated server to do their testing on.
BTW< I am game for trying to do stupid medic achievement farming at some point, just ping me on steam.
