I don't get it. I have downloaded an anti-virus program 3 times, and I can't find it in software.

If I ever made a virus, that'd be the FIRST thing I made it do.

    one of a few things:
    1) some one camping your computer and hiding/deleting it.
    2) Some one deleting the AV from the computer you were downloading from
    3) you logged out of the computer you were downloading it from, in that case you need to go to your processes page and click continue on it and you will be all set.

    any way, uploading AV to you atm <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    uploaded, scanned, cleaned

    now reset your damn IP.

    no, go nuke them.

    I am 119 atm.

Probably one of the people slaving you checked their slave page and saw that their spam was removed from you.

hmph, I will poke at it latter (don't really feel like giving him my IP)

    lol

I see you cleaned him out and installed a virus

    the virus is still there I just hid it for now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

about only using low level spam virii, I kinda disagree, a lot of the time it's all you need, but a .3 AV is common, and a .6 av is semi-common. Going one level above that helps keep your virus around a long time.

edit: I came across a guy with the 4.9 spam mailer and the 4.7 hider. I'm downloading the mailer right now since I installed his own 4.5 spam virus on his box and need it to collect the cash. If anyone needs the hider tell me here so I can download it. I'll upload both to the GS when I have them.

Newbie question, since the manuals in the forums is all closed and missing...

How in the world do you go join the GS/group/whatever it's called?

I'm doing fine as it is with what I have (1.5 WWL and 1.5 FW now), but I feel like the odd black sheep in the middle of the crowd.

Though I found the best thing to make money (made $2k last night oppose to measily $200 before): find people who are active and go spy on their logs. Occasionally you'll find several slaves that they're using that are making way more money than the other ones they have.

My result is that I found 3-4 slaves that are racking in dough faster than I thought possible for vspam. The sad thing though is that the two people I was spying for more targets have change their IP. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

A little tip that I've picked up this week. Delete every last newline from your own logs. You can't see them, but if your typing cursor can be moved to anywhere besides the absolute most upperleft part of the screen then you have them.

Then, if you're doing some risky stuff, check your logs frequently and click somewhere in the middle. If the cursor moves even a little bit, you've been hacked.

This works because most people highlight the lines of their activity but forget about the trailing newline.

I actually place an extra character a few lines down for that reason. It's visible, but people generally don't think of what it's used for.

edit: btw, kts reset his IP but not his server's maybe we'll get lucky and catch his ip on the GS.

Uploading the 4.5(highest is 4.7) seeker to the GS.
For use in hiding a virus on a high level player. Replace their seeker with the 4.5 version-there's a good chance they won't notice the change.

abra I just logged into your computer and you seem to have somewhat of a problem....
    assuming you're 250.76.13#....

I've skimmed most of this thread, and am a bit lost. I found I did play this eons ago and somehow my account still exists. I am not very far along (around 1 for the firewall, waterwall, etc). What is this communal server and such?
  • TheslanTheslan TWG Signature Maker Join Date: 2004-04-27 Member: 28245Members
Apparently there's this group server which you can register (and have forums/admin/accounts and stuff). It's like an external storage place to store anything you really want in it, but still subjected to hacking and other espionage.

For the moment, I'm trying to figure out how I could sign up, but so far no such luck. If you need any help though, I'm slowly getting further along, so I can send you a helpful program or two when I get a chance.

    Yah, I found the info for the server finally. Too much reading <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

It doesn't really matter since I need to just earn money right now. My HDD is clogged with a few viruses that are so high I won't be able to get rid of them for a while = me having no space. Time to earn some money so I can upgrade my machine.

the GS IP is posted a little bit back in the thread, just go there, crack in (it will be no problem), then go to Manage This Server then Group Memebers then join with the PW that was in the same post as the IP for the GS(lork something or other).

Just remember to clear YOUR logs first when logging into the GS, and then clear your logs when ever you do anything at the GS.

There is a 5.0 FWL in there that is hidden by a .2 hdr, so if you don't have a .2 or greater .skr already you can download one from the GS and then DL the 5.0 fwl.

If you have 30 gigs of space you will be able to download the max on everything I think, but it is gona take you a while <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Two things you could do:

    1. Format your HD, reset your IP. This will clear out some space and get people off your tail. After that, go to the GS and see if there are any low level stuff you can download straight from there that will help you out... and then go off on your merry way attempting to build money again (after clearing your logs to hide the group server IP from anyone)

    2. Go camp the banks and try to make a bank heist and then immediately buy a larger HD and such, and go to option 1... This is a really good choice right now for you if you don't have anything really worth saving because there is really no risk.
Be sure to get a new bank account after this because someone will probably have your info...

Oh, and for Option 2... If you want a bank account cracked post a message here and someone with a 5.0 Firewall and cracker can do it for you. (I did around 20 of these for Thansal) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Yah, I've done some dancing and managed to delete stuff you guys had on the server (a little hard since you don't have low end water and fire walls <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> ). Downloading an antivirus right now that should clean it all out. Then I'll reset and be on my merry way, thanks.

If you can, formatting is better because it gets rid of ANY level antivirus, as well as anything else that might be hidden on your HD.

I guess I could, but from what I can see, I only have 50 megs or so of stuff that I can't see. The viruses I can see are taking up about 300 megs and being the big issue. I'll format it later.

    edit - seems the antivirus cleaned out the ones I couldn't even see. Not one left <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    I have 1.5 - .8 FW. Choose a flavor and I'll download it.

I keep them in my disk just to discourage people from deleting my files (so that hopefully they'll just leave it alone).

Anything above 1 is probably good enough to discourage the low level punks.

    Comprox:
You really should have reset your IP *before* coming to the GS to minimize risk if you knew that people were on your tail.
Too late now, but just for future reference and the reference of anyone else.

I realized the other day that this is a really good idea if you have the space. Since it takes time to delete each file. The more versions you have, the harder it is to knock you down too far.

I've been thinking that once I get the space. I'm going to have every version of FWL, WWL, CRC, and AV randomly distributed through as many folders as I can create on my hard drive. That way it'd be pretty hard to even have a clear understanding of how hurt I'd be.
