No AI, no NPCs or barbbels ( im tired my spelling sucks atm :S ). And that single player expansion, i was hoping to see released next decade, is now just a shattered dream <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
Im sure i can come up whit more when i get some sleep <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

But this is NS its all about the environment/immersion/ambushes and mostly in very atmospheric indoor area's.
Having a proper lighting system would bring so much to the gameplay of NS this is one game which can really benefit from a good lighting system beyond just the eye candy factor.
Doom3 is not the best example as it uses a very outdated shadowing method and technology has dramatically changed since then. Its running off technology which is over 5 years old so its not a very good comparison.
I'm not saying they go CRAZY with the latest rendering technologies but they should really give a thought to what technology is around today.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yes I agree... I *did* say "there are some things that contribute to the FEEL of the game and then there are...[there I started talking about the graphics wow factor]".

Well I hope you use the unreal style of carving I hate leaks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Anyone who has used quake 1 engine will know what I am talking about <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Leaks are a cruse <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
A bit of Trivia, which engine used the solid style of building first ?
<!--QuoteBegin-"marks"+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE("marks")</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->afaik it was the original Unreal Tournament which first utilised subtractive BSP.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Unreal was a single player game using the UnrealEngine 1.0. As for the "first game to use" question, I'm going to guess either Doom or Heretic.

What about Duke Nukem 3D? I only messed around in the level editor ever so slightly but it appeared to be somewhat 3D from what I remember... minus the sprites of course. Then there was Descent that 3D space game where you go through space mines, asteroids and what not and destroy robots and eventually escape. Duke Nukem was released 5ish months before Quake and Descent was released a year before both.
