I understand it is vital in NS gameplay but it might not be in NS2. I think people are just afraid of change. Because they have this awesome game and are just afraid that changes will ruin in. But everyone knows the devs are competent people.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I still think the HP was only picked up due to the early flamebaits. The main issue is how drastic the change in general is. NS has one of the most information packed HUDs I've seen in FPS and NS2 seems to go with the minimalistic way. The HP count is just an example of how you can process the information and adapt into the situation, which in my opinion has been really enjoyable in NS. Nevertheless, I guess we'll just have to wait until the devs are ready to explain how all this is going to work.

Just in case anybody wasn't aware - yeah, I started that. However, on the topic of the amount of toys-throwing-out-of-pram going on in this thread:

    Veterans adapt, newbies whine.

There is a reason people quote that. Think about that for a minute before you post.

    [offtopic]
Do you guys honestly think you're gonna change anything with all this whining? I'd be surprised if any of the UWE development staff actually read any of the threads in this forum which aren't about the news posts. If this was my company forum, I wouldn't. I might start, but the amount of stupidity, retardedness, narrow-mindedness and general asshattery would stop me sooner rather than later. Stop throwing your goddam toys out of the pram, no matter how hard you cry, uncle Charlie over there isn't gonna compromise his artistic vision, for your personal enjoyment. So shut up, put up, and wait and see what UWE come up with. I have faith that they'll deliver a fantastic game, even if none of you do.

I'm just jumping in here, and I read some of the posts, but why can't we have both the numbered health, and the screen effects?

I think it would be very much possible to keep both in-game. The HUD would be displayed as normal just like in NS, and as the player gets closer and closer to death, the special effects on the screen would kick in and disrupt the players vision. I think it would also be possible to have the Marine's HUD to become a little staticy when they are near death. That would only make sense because their armor would have to take damage.

It would be interesting if the numbered hud appears with an upgrade.

The helmet would upgrade to display somethings that didn’t until the upgrade, like the numbered hud.

Well it’s just na idea like others
