So if we have a female Marine why can't we have have a furry Marine?

I'm just kidding... LOL Z!!!
But on a serious note, can we have a seperate hitbox for the female Marine if it does look aesthetically different?
Or at least make the "invisible" hitbox small enough on the side-by-side comparison of the female and male Marine to not be noticeble during gameplay. There is nothing worse than seeing a model take damage 3 feet next to them with blood splattering out because the hitboxes are "boxy" and were lazily made.
=)

You're getting into things that you really should avoid with that one.
Also, as I said before: your signature is way too bright because of the code bubble.
I don't think so... the hitboxes should make up for lost ground in other parts of the body.
For example, if the female Marine is bustier from a side profile, then the male Marine is wider in the shoulders from a frontal and back profile.
Another idea would be to have the female Marine taller and slightly more slender, with the male Marine shorter and more "stocky".
That is what should be done to "balance" the game.
How does that make any sense? Males are a lot taller on average. I think the hitboxes should be identical.
edit: as Sirot said, little differences between hitboxes don't really make difference to aliens. But in MvM?
What's wrong with you? ;]
this would give players a fency choice, you have a bit of the screen filled with boobs so you see nothig in this area but you can see boobs what should you do ? pic male for full view or female for boob view ^^

The latter of course xD

But I prefer the second one.
Narp, I stick by my words.

Post it on your FaceBook/MySpace. I don't care.
Don't base yourself just on reality.

We loves the furry ones <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />D ('cause we are furries to0)
-Higher recoil (They are weaker)
-They should always be in front (Ladies first!)
-Maybe have the screen blurred from tears cause its that time of the month and all the marines should stop what they are doing and listen.
-Also she can go make us all sammichs!
-And when a guy picks a female the game can alert us he is a fgt that likes anime and wishes the armor was bikini style and has a 9 foot long 300 pound sword on her back.
This is some constructive ###### btw.

LOL
So a female basketball team vs a male basketball team....females would win?
Face it, males dominate every aspect of athleticism, find an athletic world record in which the female's is higher than the male's. I'm not trying to be sexist here but it's the simple fact of the matter. Testosterone vs estrogen does make a difference. Men run faster and are more agile on average, as well as being bulkier and stronger. I see no warrant here to reason why females would be more agile.
Differences aside, I dont think it should make any difference in the model. They should just base the male and female models off of the same "bone" figure so they dont have to have different hitboxes. The real purpose of making a female model is to diversify the looks of the rines (and reach out to a female audience?<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />), not to make the game more complicated.
If you wanted it to be realistic, there would be no women.
What we do to get fed...
Im sorry for this but I just had to...
On a male charicter you now look down, and see your feet! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
On a female charicter you look down and you see <!--coloro:#000000--><span style="color:#000000"><!--/coloro-->BREASTS<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
Functional differences of players based on physical attributes of sexuality create game-play imbalance and promote sexism.
This is the opposite of the Unknown Worlds goal of "unite the world through gaming".
Citation of an occurrence of such a system:
Tribes 1. Female armor has a smaller hit box. What do players use, predominantly for that edge? Female characters.
Peace.

I don't understand why a female marine would have less armor? Does that really make sense? I don't see why they would be sent to battle against space creatures with less armor.

If it was realistic, there would also be Black and Hispanic marines, and a Middle Eastern marine and a Chinese marine. Truth is that it adds diversity to the game, in my opinion it shouldn't make game play any different. Besides, it gives the male marines something to look at while they're reloading <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />.
Assigning different attributes to the different sexes is just a bad idea. Players would generally choose one model over the next, assuming that is allowed in game, for certain attributes. And if UWE wanted to have that, they might as well develop a class system with player models with different attributes. However, the idea for marines is that everyone is equal and every is able to do their part. So I'm really not for it.
And choosing one sex over the other for attributes is just sexist. I know some really hardcore females out there that can kick all you guys asses.
