Not a thread on this yet? Anyway, was reading the District 9 thread, didn't want to derail it, as was beginning to happen.
Anyway, I thought it was a good film, very enjoyable, and amusing as hell.

The gf and I opted for Inglorious Basterds... Quentin Tarantino outdid himself on this one. Just see it, the ending is killer. :)

Gotta disagree with you here, it clearly wasn't his best work. Music was ripped from Kill Bill (and didn't fit the Nazi theme nearly as well), and the movie was far too long at around 3 hours. I did like the beginning scene where the Jewish girl escapes though.

Gotta disagree with the idea that the film was too long. In contrast to many movies, it was longer, yes, and if comparison to other film's lengths is your standard of measure, then yes, too long. However, each of the chapters to me appeared to be a shorter film within the whole, sharing a general theme, and interrelating with one another enough to appear as one. I didn't particularly notice the actual length of the film while watching it , time just flew by, and I was entertained.
The music, to me at least, fit. I like how there wasn't really any period music. It also served to remind me that the film was a gigantic work of fiction, not in any way based on true events.
Anyway, I enjoyed the show for what it was, mindlessly entertaining Nat-Zee killin'.

Comments
The music was 152 minutes but didn't seem that long since it was sectioned by the various chapters.
Do you think Shoshanna got her revenge?
I heard this movie called a "spaghetti western" and it's rumored Tarantino spent a decade writing the script. Great movie!
The Jewhunter Hans was amazingly well played, id like to see that guy as the Riddler if ever.
The movie was in desperate need of an editor and I think the only reason its popular is because of the Tarantino name.
I really liked the mix of the languages. It has always bugged me a bit when everyone spoke English regardless where the scene in the movie was.
So in short, those all-English movies you complain about? They're actually pretty accurate. Only we don't have stupid pseudo accents to indicate what country we're from.

Read this three times, can't seem to find your opinion on the movie.

Read this six times, can't seem to understand how a grown man can make himself use poorly cropped gifs in that way.
The look better on a lighter background.
Otherwise I had no complaints. I took the historical inaccuracy of the music to be a cue towards the historical inaccuracy of the plot. :P
That's because they're not poorly cropped gifs, they're created for a lighter background. Try a different skin?

It really took me out of the moment, which is probably the worst thing a soundtrack can do...

I KNEW IT! They all said I was crazy, but I knew it.
Maybe you should make your terrible emoticons match the forum's default skin. Or just not use them at all; I have no problem with the textual content of your posts, but the last time I saw any of those emoticons are when my 12/14-year old cousins (both girls) were using them, and it disgusted me then. Could you please vastly improve the intellectual status of this forum and learn to convey what you mean in words? A picture may be worth a thousand of them but only beyond a certain minimum-quality threshold.
Apologies for breaking the thread of this discussion.

And what is YOUR opinion of Inglorious Basterds?
Maybe it'd be a better idea if the emoticons were designed for ANY forum skin, not designed in a way that they look terrible on x but not too bad on y.

You are correct, of course. If I had the time I'd go through the entire batch and do that.
I found the subtitles mostly fine but once or twice had a little trouble reading something as I was trying to watch the action on the screen.
I thought I did a thread, but I'm on so many forums and a lot of them had threads for the Inglorious Basterds.
QT did a great job on the movie and I loved it all. Was funny that my friend and I where only laughing at some parts. Dark humor ftw right? :)
Subtitles, who cares. It allows you to understand that stuff if you don't. Though tbh, I should understand the german and italian, because I'm 1/3 of each haha.
I think every foreigner (lolfighter..lol ;)) should have captions when they speak! Make it a lolcat style. :)

It's probably the blood stained T-shirts from the deathmatchs we hold every week. Gotta keep that population under control somehow.
Do you know why it's spelled with a "U"?
According to wikipedia, merely an artistic flourish.

Also says that it might have been to avoid copyright/trademark issues with the other film by the same name.

Good catch. -_-
...may wait for the video. :)
