You guys need to stop arguing with zex because he's bang on the money.

Nothing was 'touched up' means they didn't alter anything they put into that scene: the scene was made from real things and the screenshot they show is the scene they captured, they didn't photoshop it afterwards to make it look better. The distinction is that the real things they showed are assets that probably aren't fully working in the game. The Skulks are probably in a static pose to show off the model and the rig (i.e. where the joints are), but at the time of the shot they probably only had basic placeholder animations, or they could have had no animations at all for all we know. It's feasible that the Skulks are both in an idle animation so that they both look very similar. The 3rd-person muzzle flash on the Marine is one static frame of the effect, it may not actually be attached and working when another player fires their gun in front of you, or even animated.

What we can definitely be sure of based on the shot and dev comments is the look of the game and the engine. The lighting in particular casts dynamically on the 3rd-person models and the first-person weapon model, so when you're in the dark the metal of your your gun won't be reflecting as much light. The Skulk models are exactly the same but the light on their faces is different, and it's not photoshop it's the lights and the game engine causing that effect.

zex is trying to educate you and for some reason you simply don't want to be educated, instead insisting that he's wrong. Typical internets.

@Mu: Considering the two shots show Skulk models taken from different angles, it's very difficult to say if they're identical or not. Your mind could be filling in the gaps to see what you want to see.
