The hallway w/ door screenshot looks nice and balanced. Keep that up!
However, I think the ceiling texture in the last screenshot stands out too much compared to the rest of the room.
Try to use lighting to your advantage and emphasize lighting in interesting / important parts of the room, taking player's attention away from the less interesting areas (this is what i was told to do!).
Is there a chance to get screen from top of this map (something like commander view) to see what parts are done, and what is just a draft. I would like to imagine how big will be the map, and how's the progress until now.
As weird as it seems, I complete sections of the map, one portion at a time, and once I feel the portions are good enough to be brought in with the others, I plop them in :] But here's a screenshot showing what I've completed 100% so far!
Well, it seems as if school has taken most of my time these days. I apologize for those who have been following my construction since day one for not updating recently. Let's see what I can come up with after Tuesday ( last final!!! )
Greetings! Many moons ago I have started this, and I intend on finishing it. Just a quick memo- Just got married, so I'm enjoying that, and I've also finally set up my new rig. Here's a quick update for all of you guys out there. Bare with me, I'm still trying to get back in the groove :D

Here it is before working on it. (Major upgrade if you ask me!) <img src="http://i.imgur.com/Hk3qL.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Looks nice so far. One thing I'd suggest is narrow down your lighting colour palette a little. You have lots of different colours going on and some of them are clashing.
Thanks for the input there PogoP. I'm actually trying to work them down this evening when I get back home from class. I was hoping to use 3 colors maximum in each area. Orange,Red,Blue/White. Main colors that I want to use and mix together. I have very little green going on, so that doesn't clash as much as it should. I've added little details to the textures, such as if a trim has light sources, I'll add a light to it with intensity 20 and a range of 5. Any tips you can share, please PM me!
Not dead at all! My rig died on me, so I'm waiting for parts to come in as of right now. I'm working on getting a new processor (which over heated), and a new graphics card (which also over heated)
I like the looks of your map. Particularly the use of color that people keep criticizing. There isn't enough bright, vibrant color in typical NS2 maps. Too much industrial gray, and most of the custom maps try to emulate that! Be different!
Not too sure what it is really... When I check the properties, it says that the boxes are props. When I delete the red boxes, props in the vicinity disappear.

I adore the way you blend your colours so perfectly.
Bravo.

Working on colors, lighting, and prop placement. Surrounding area will come later.

I know this isn't a LOT, but it takes patience in what I develop.
Looking forward to future updates.

you use yellow textures, blue lights (2 different shades I think), red lights and white lights, and even yellow lights.
This makes it looks too much like a night-club you know??
p.s. the lightning in your 'before' shot looks much better!!
@Soul_Rider - Thanks!
