HOWEVER! I strongly believe in "inner values" meaning, if a team can pull a goofy, stupid, not intimidating character, and Make him look scary, dangerous and awesome by his actions! how he moves and behaves, how he sounds and his skill. sorta like a normal looking, young milk faced murderer that doesn't seem like much, but then due to dramatic music, lightning and mercilessness and inhumanity of his actions make him scary.
if a team can pull that off they succeeded with making something badass. also, a fade which you don't see is 1000x more scarier than a fade you can see. and then you hear the sound of him blinking in....
Okay, from the front he does have a sad face, but that profile picture darktimes posted looks fantastic. I really don't have any complaints about the new model. If it gets improved, then great, but if not I won't think twice about it.

I'm really not keen on the current Fade design. It might be proportions, it's certainly not helped by the face, but he's just not as scary as his NS incarnation. He's almost become cute, which really doesn't suit the concept at all. Perhaps some slight tweaks to the model & skin would completely change that, and he'd be great. It's primarily an aesthetics thing obviously, so it's always going to be a bit subjective...
I think he looks great, but will admit a front shot of his face looks a bit derpy. Maybe it's the eyes? Just need to make his face look a bit more sinister and I think you've nailed it.
In game, he looks much better than the reveal video or shots, I will say that. And the blink is incredible.

WOW, that makes a huge difference. Somebody should take screenshots of each alien in game and photoshop the old version to see the difference for each alien.
Tho i wonder how the fade eats, because the vampire-teeth seem like they prevent any carcass from getting close to the mouth, they seem to simply impale the meat before it reaches the mouth..
I thought the alien lifeforms were just bacterial organisms made up of millions of bacteria? So I'd just assume that whatever makes the bacteria grow is good enough to sustain the lifeforms, I don't think they need to eat per se.

This is very, very, true. Its a pretty big blunder by UWE I hope they tweak the aliens.
I wish they would just change the eyes and be done with it. The effort investment should be relatively minimal and then people would stop complaining about it. :)
One thing i noticed about the fade's model compared to all the other kharaa is that he is lacking "horns". Every other model has what appears to be horns sticking out of the side of their head, even the gorge... which adds a bit of an evil appearance.
