I just noticed that my translation for SWARM was wrong. To defend myself, I can only say that even people with English mother-tounge get that wrong. :P (see NS2HDs comment: "when you get multiple attacks... looks a bit of a spelling error" <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXGA6pTEYzA&feature=relmfu" target="_blank">[link]</a> @ 12:37 )
What "when multiples attack" really means is "when multiple players attack", the exact translation would be "wenn mehrere angreifen". Basti has a good translation for that (+Schaden auf zuvor von Mitspieler attackierte Ziele). So he's actually not translating what the original text is, he is translating what it should be ;).

I never noticed that until a friend of mine (who has an english version) told me that a bunch of "salads" are coming for my base. I was like "what? are you kidding me? salads?" and he was like "Yes! be ready!" Thats why I try to keep it as close to the original as possible.. or put the english names in the tooltips at least ;-)

Good work so far. I went through the last translation and made a few notes:
First a foremost I have never before, in film or game, seen anything called „Munitionspack“, usually it's just „Munition“, in games even „Muni“ from time to time. The word "Pack" is rarely used in German unlike in English, it just doesn't sound natural.
The armory I would just call armory as it will always be referred to that in game, I guess you chose "Armory Waffenlager" for an explanatory name; in that case I would just have the explanation in a tool tip: Armory – Waffenlager und Versorgungsstation für Marines im Einsatz. „Erweitertes Waffenlager“ works well though.
„Detonationsradius“ sound easier on my ears than „Sprengradius“, but that is just personal preference I guess. Instead of „Roboterfabrik“ I would use „Robotikfabrik“ as the word „Roboter“ describes the product while „Robotik“ is the field of science and a factory that builds robots should not be confused with a factory where robots work :) Also I would prefer „ARK stationieren“ and „ARK mobilisieren†since you are not just erecting the canon but actually changing the whole vehicle into a stationary structure. „Brauchen hier Heilung†doesn't work with the German grammar, I would prefer „Heilung benötigtâ€. There is a typo at <i>MARK_THREAT = "Gefahr markieten"</i>. Additionally I would scratch the „Hier“ from „Hier Schwachpunkt†or set it at the end: „Schwachpunkt hier“. Regarding the alerts, I would change „Sentry wenig Munition“ to â€Sentry-Munition gering“ and „Sentry keine Munition mehr“ to „Sentry-Munition aufgebraucht“. One last thing: What is it with „Soldier braucht Munition“? Why not „Soldat braucht Munition“? Or even „Soldat benötigt Munition“ as I think it sounds nicer, but that is just personal preference again.
And then a little notion towards naming themes. The frontiersmen are all about technology and tactics while the aliens are organic. I think this should also be present in the labels and descriptions. While for the marines we can use words like „verbessern†and „optimieren†the organic structures of the Khaara should be described with words we know from the flora. „heranwachsen lassen†and „Ausgewacchsene *†already sounds good, also „pflanzen†for „place†while the marines rather „platzieren†or „aufbauen“ their structures. It seems most of it already fits that scheme but for further ideas this could be a guide.

I am very much pro Phasentechnik and Phasentor, it is the correct translation and also sounds appropriate to a sci-fi game (see <a href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phasenverschiebung%20)" target="_blank">http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phasenverschiebung)</a>. It has been used in some of the Command and Conquer games too, which had a pretty good translation as far as I can recall. In any case I think it is important to stick to the sci-fi theme which practically requires scientific phrasing for atmosphere (even if it's bogus).

I've choosen "sichten und vernichten" for seek and destroy because they translated it that way in the "Full Metal Jacked"-movie. It is in the part shortly after the bootcamp part is over. Joker tells Rafterman that they used to call it "Sichten und Vernichten" (seek and destroy) but have to change it now into "Klären und Säubern" (I only have the german VCR-version, so I don't know what it is called in english)

As I wrote earlier I have to rename the Powerpack. Currently it is called "Generator" but as I described above, it will cause confusion if someone translates it directly. I even caught myself asking the commander to drop a "Generator".. But how should we translate it? I have no idea.. For now I will change it back to "Powerpack"...until we have a better translation. And I will change "Verbesserte Waffenlager" back to "Verbesserte Amory" as well.

Its hard to explain frenzy correct in a short Tooltip. Maybe lets do it simpler like: gain healt on kill ergo Bei einer eleminierung (tötung?) erhälst du Lebenspunkte zurück
For Powerpack: Akkumulator, Notstromgenerator, Energiepaket, USV (unabhängige Stromversorgung) or Trasnsformator. There are many other solutions for powerpack.
Armory could be best translated as Arsenal und Erweitertes Arsenal gamewise ( but also in real life I get my gun in the army from the Waffenkammer)
For the powerpack: I dont like Transformator and Akkumulator, because it doesnt describe it correctly. If we also think about shortcuts like USV we could also think about MSV(Mobile Stromversorgung) which describes it exactly. However I can not think of a short correct name that is no shortcut, too.
For the Armory: Since the armory is not a room itself Waffenkammer sounds strange. How about Waffenschrank? I also like Arsenal.

First off.. sorry for beeing lazy in the last build.. with 186 coming out (hopefully today ;) ) I will update the Translation again.
The Problem I see with all the translation is, that nobody can backtranslate it. I often find myself asking for a "Generator" or telling that there is a skulk on the "Stromkasten" (because currently the Powerpack and Power node are translated that way) what only causes confusion.
I think we should keep the Power pack a power pack ... at least we can pronounce it the german way like "Paua Pack" ;-)
BTW I do like the translation of Armory into Arsenal. I think I will change that in the next Update. (And "Arsenal" is a direct translation of Armory, so I would cause less confusion if someone translates it ingame directly)
On translation of Power Pack is "Netzteil" but that sounds strange maybe "Energiebündel/Strompacket". For power node maybe "Energieknoten" or "Stromknoten". "Waffenschrank" sounds ok to me but Arsenal sounds more powerful! (Ein Arsenal von Waffen sounds better than ein voller Waffenschrank).
Yeah german is the most unlogical langue I know (beside my Swissgerman).

What "when multiples attack" really means is "when multiple players attack", the exact translation would be "wenn mehrere angreifen". Basti has a good translation for that (+Schaden auf zuvor von Mitspieler attackierte Ziele). So he's actually not translating what the original text is, he is translating what it should be ;).

I never noticed that until a friend of mine (who has an english version) told me that a bunch of "salads" are coming for my base.
I was like "what? are you kidding me? salads?"

First a foremost I have never before, in film or game, seen anything called „Munitionspack“, usually it's just „Munition“, in games even „Muni“ from time to time. The word "Pack" is rarely used in German unlike in English, it just doesn't sound natural.
The armory I would just call armory as it will always be referred to that in game, I guess you chose "Armory Waffenlager" for an explanatory name; in that case I would just have the explanation in a tool tip: Armory – Waffenlager und Versorgungsstation für Marines im Einsatz.
„Erweitertes Waffenlager“ works well though.
„Detonationsradius“ sound easier on my ears than „Sprengradius“, but that is just personal preference I guess.
Instead of „Roboterfabrik“ I would use „Robotikfabrik“ as the word „Roboter“ describes the product while „Robotik“ is the field of science and a factory that builds robots should not be confused with a factory where robots work :)
Also I would prefer „ARK stationieren“ and „ARK mobilisieren†since you are not just erecting the canon but actually changing the whole vehicle into a stationary structure.
„Brauchen hier Heilung†doesn't work with the German grammar, I would prefer „Heilung benötigtâ€.
There is a typo at <i>MARK_THREAT = "Gefahr markieten"</i>. Additionally I would scratch the „Hier“ from „Hier Schwachpunkt†or set it at the end: „Schwachpunkt hier“.
Regarding the alerts, I would change „Sentry wenig Munition“ to â€Sentry-Munition gering“ and „Sentry keine Munition mehr“ to „Sentry-Munition aufgebraucht“.
One last thing: What is it with „Soldier braucht Munition“? Why not „Soldat braucht Munition“? Or even „Soldat benötigt Munition“ as I think it sounds nicer, but that is just personal preference again.
And then a little notion towards naming themes.
The frontiersmen are all about technology and tactics while the aliens are organic. I think this should also be present in the labels and descriptions.
While for the marines we can use words like „verbessern†and „optimieren†the organic structures of the Khaara should be described with words we know from the flora. „heranwachsen lassen†and „Ausgewacchsene *†already sounds good, also „pflanzen†for „place†while the marines rather „platzieren†or „aufbauen“ their structures. It seems most of it already fits that scheme but for further ideas this could be a guide.

Thats right, but calling it simply "Munition" wouldn't fit. The comander drops in fact a pack with one ammo clip for every weapon. But you are right that "Munitionspack" sounds a little bumpy.
Maybe we change it into Munitionspaket, because that is what it is. In game the people will continue to call it "Muni" because... in the english version they call for ammo.. not for an ammopack too ;-)

You have a point. But wouldn't it be a little inconveniend to call it "Amory" and "Erweitertes Waffenlager"? And it would mess with the current theme that aliens have english names for their structures and marines german ones. ... on the other hand, the Aliens have the "Versorger" ..
Okay, I will put "Armory" and the alternate tooltip in the next build and test out how it looks in the actual game.

They just want to expand their gardens and grow it, but are interrupted by some weed (marines) that keeps killing their structures.
So I will defenetely stick with that - until the devs tell me to change it.

Isn't that too long? That's obviously better but I thought we'd have to deal with limited space.
This is why we need some testers who take a look at the translation and if it fits in the acutal game.
The "Power Knoten" translation for instance looked like a good Idea on paper.. but looked terrible in the game.
I would apreciate if someone else (besides me) will test the new translation.
ATM this is still a beta and some texts sound a little awkward in english too. "Drifter Research complete" or "Upgrade to Mature Crag Research complete" for instance.
Also the tooltips for the Lifeforms ("you are a skulk...." and so on) and the prefix "unbuild" are not translatable at the moment.
BTW, I tried it out and "Sentry muss nachgeladen werden" fits exactly in the box.. but one more letter and it will be to long. ;-)

I am very much pro Phasentechnik and Phasentor, it is the correct translation and also sounds appropriate to a sci-fi game (see <a href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phasenverschiebung%20)" target="_blank">http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phasenverschiebung)</a>. It has been used in some of the Command and Conquer games too, which had a pretty good translation as far as I can recall.
In any case I think it is important to stick to the sci-fi theme which practically requires scientific phrasing for atmosphere (even if it's bogus).

You translated it with "Errichten".. which sounds better then "konstruieren", but a quick googeling gave me the idea to call it simply "aufbauen". I will try that in the next version and see how it will look in the actual game.
I've choosen "sichten und vernichten" for seek and destroy because they translated it that way in the "Full Metal Jacked"-movie.
It is in the part shortly after the bootcamp part is over.
Joker tells Rafterman that they used to call it "Sichten und Vernichten" (seek and destroy) but have to change it now into "Klären und Säubern" (I only have the german VCR-version, so I don't know what it is called in english)

As I wrote earlier I have to rename the Powerpack.
Currently it is called "Generator" but as I described above, it will cause confusion if someone translates it directly. I even caught myself asking the commander to drop a "Generator"..
But how should we translate it?
I have no idea..
For now I will change it back to "Powerpack"...until we have a better translation.
And I will change "Verbesserte Waffenlager" back to "Verbesserte Amory" as well.

Maybe lets do it simpler like: gain healt on kill ergo Bei einer eleminierung (tötung?) erhälst du Lebenspunkte zurück
For Powerpack: Akkumulator, Notstromgenerator, Energiepaket, USV (unabhängige Stromversorgung) or Trasnsformator. There are many other solutions for powerpack.
Armory could be best translated as Arsenal und Erweitertes Arsenal gamewise ( but also in real life I get my gun in the army from the Waffenkammer)

I dont like Transformator and Akkumulator, because it doesnt describe it correctly. If we also think about shortcuts like USV we could also think about MSV(Mobile Stromversorgung) which describes it exactly. However I can not think of a short correct name that is no shortcut, too.
For the Armory:
Since the armory is not a room itself Waffenkammer sounds strange. How about Waffenschrank? I also like Arsenal.

The Problem I see with all the translation is, that nobody can backtranslate it.
I often find myself asking for a "Generator" or telling that there is a skulk on the "Stromkasten" (because currently the Powerpack and Power node are translated that way) what only causes confusion.
I think we should keep the Power pack a power pack ... at least we can pronounce it the german way like "Paua Pack" ;-)
BTW I do like the translation of Armory into Arsenal. I think I will change that in the next Update.
(And "Arsenal" is a direct translation of Armory, so I would cause less confusion if someone translates it ingame directly)
"Waffenschrank" sounds ok to me but Arsenal sounds more powerful! (Ein Arsenal von Waffen sounds better than ein voller Waffenschrank).
Yeah german is the most unlogical langue I know (beside my Swissgerman).
