New Counter Strike!
Looks like Valve are gonna brink out a new CS next year: http://kotaku.com/5830230/is-valve-releasi...ter+strike-game
I can't wait for it. It's been too long since a good competitive shooter came out on PC. Hopefully they bring out day of defeat 2 as well :D

The linked site claims there will be a Valve press release within 24 hours.

sounds like a DDR title...
Already are.
CS:GO is being developed for the consoles therefore it will suck.
I can't argue that logic, but I'm holding out hope that CS:GO will be decent and will resemble CS1.6.
Yay, another version of Counter-Strike for everyone to run around de_dust with an AK-47 or an M4 in their hands! If that version is too updated, someone will remake an older version.
I'd be shocked if it doesn't more closely resemble CoD. Still, hopefully they avoid at least the big monster errors that these types of companies make that keep good shooters from being competitive. It is encouraging that they have esports figures in the testing seats, but it's SO easy for that to be a figurehead type thing. I would really love if Valve can be a legitimate competitor to blizzard as a company that's on everyone's esports radar. But gameplay is going to need to be utterly ironclad for both Dota2 and CS:GO for that to be a reality. The competitive scene has been burned enough times by developers (including/especially Valve) that I'm pretty nervous.

Isn't counterstrike on consoles essentially just modern warfare on sabotage mode?
Anything on Consoles is a dumbed down version of what it could be on the computer.
vouch
Well except for all of those third person beatemups and suchlike that work really really well on a console, and I end up playing with a 360 controller anyway when I buy them on PC.
And all of those driving and racing games that are really good with analogue controls.
And fighting games.
And halo-style fps games which don't suffer at all for being on a console.
And third person shooters like gears of war which again are largely not improved by being on PC.
So basically anything that is actually designed for a console generally works very well on a console, and a lot of things are nowadays, consoles have found ways to make all sorts of genres work really well with a controller.
No, Halo was far better on the PC, besides the fact it was a crappy port.
Wouldn't it be great if everything ever done in human history was done by people as stupid as you?
"Hey Bernoulli, are you ever going to tell us about all this math stuff you've been working on?"
"No, it's not quite ready yet, I can make the equations even more perf- *HERK* I'm dead!"
"Where's Dr. Fleming been? Still working with those molds in his lab?"
"Yeah but he keeps throwing everything out, says it wasn't perfect yet. Oh by the way your son died of his infection today. Sorry."
"Signore Galilei, the Church is interested in hearing about this heliocentric theory of yours..."
"Nah, I gave up, I couldn't account for the fact that there were two tides, so I don't think it was perfect so I threw everything away."
Sticking to deadlines is what gets ###### done.
That and slavery.

Too passive aggressive. What I meant to express was:

PS3 supports m+k but I thought console mice weren't true mice i.e. there was a point where moving the mouse quicker wouldn't make you turn any faster, similar to the extremity of a thumbstick?

I'm fairly sure that the PS3 flat out supports USB Mice and Keyboards.
Because consoles tend to already be hooked up to your giant TV.
Because a lot of people only have a console and not a gaming PC.
etc
The point I'm getting at is that the mouse & keyboard setup is a good deal more inflexible than a controller in terms of location and what furniture you're sitting on and at. Living room couches, in particular, are not well suited. So if that's where your TV and console is, a controller is far more convenient.
