White fire engulfing screen

At first I thought it might be some new visual effects from the update but after it kept growing and completely blinded me, I figured something was wrong.
It looks like a white fire that moves and grows until the whole screen is white.
It now even happens right when loading NS2 up.
Strange thing is that I can still see HUD items and people talking but nothing else.
Any ideas?

Wow really....why would I waste my time making a photoshopped picture.
There, happy?

But seriously - it looks photoshopped.
Also that you dont give any information about your hardware, drivers etc... seems like you are not interessted in help?
Doesn't happen in other games.
Otherwise it looks like your film projector is burning up.
ATI 4850 (Latest drivers)
Windows 7 64 bit
What else would you like to know?
Currently working on uploading a video of it.
It does seriously look like an old film projector burning up.
EDIT: agreed w/ player, turning off atmospherics is also a good thing to try: r_atmospherics false
Guess I can try deleting and redownload.
But r_bloom false did! :)
So is this a bug or is there something else I can do beside disabling bloom to fix this?
Thanks to all those who actually helped!
This is already how I have it set. :(
Shame on you playtesters that trolled, that wasn't helpful.
Seriously. What kind of behavior was that??
For the record, I wouldn't suggest a BIOS update 'player' sir. This is a graphical issue of some kind. I would suggest updating drivers to the latest see what happens.
Oddly if r_bloom fixes it looks like something is creating objects to bloom which aren't really there.
It would also be useful to know what other 3rd-party applications you're running at the same time, specifically applications that have any kind of overlay function.
fixed.
I shouldn't be apologizing for anyone involved in the game development but I am sorry that accusations of doctoring a photo was implied. I am appalled to see those comments coming from anyone with a "Play-tester Title" under their name. Very unprofessional. I assure you that behavior does not reflect on all of UWE and there are some very error fixing savoy people on these forums that are more than glad to help you out.
Did a quick browse to see if I could find any fixes - haven't stumbled across any real fixes in the 2 minute search I did

Vid drivers are already to the latest version.
I did not have this problem during 188 but I was using an older video driver. I updated right before 189 came out and didn't get to try 188 w/ the new drivers.
Might try and see if I can roll back to the older driver.

Most of the time when I've heard about such weird visual glitches, its due to failing hardware (usually GPU). Though, if r_bloom false 'fixes' it, then I guess its fine.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It's entirely possible. This card is actually an RMA due to the original failing and the one they sent me I'm not able to control the fan speed like the old was did. So it's possible it's overheating(ed) because once in a while the driver will stop responding after playing for a while.

As established, it's definitely a graphics issue, just need to work out if it's a driver, compatibility or (broken) hardware issue.

This what your looking for?
Also, the only other programs that are running are (Windows security essentials & Powerstrip)

I've seen this before in dirt 3 where dust particles that where playing during a Program crash where it was still playing when I restarted the game and was in the menu screen.

No I was not exiting and/or the PC did not crash while this happened.
And thanks!
