    I'd like the idea of marines needing 3 cc's to get level 3 weapons. It makes some sense and scales better with the flow of the game. I hate how aliens have 3 or 4 hives and marines are just sitting in base with level 3 weapons so they can just kill an onos that comes in in less than 2 seconds if they all concentrate fire. I mean right now a lot of games seem to go on forever once you get to the point where marines are boxed in. On the other hand once the aliens are down to one hive, the game is over pretty quickly.

    How about if alien abilities had tiers ? eg. Level 1 leap available at 1 hive, level 2 leap available at 2 hive etc. ? Then you could have all the abilities (level 1) to work with at hive 1 (umbra etc.)

    That's a pretty good idea, therefore it shall not happen. Instead, lets raise the costs of hives and leap to deter "early" game hive/leap rush. Fun.

    Yea, I seriously hope they don't just bump up the hive build time like Charlie once mentioned, that would be totally missing the point. (And gimping aliens in the process, since the longer they are stuck at T1 the easier it is for marines to destroy them). They need to address the underlying cause, second hive rush being a no-brainer is merely a symptom.

    Yeah and J{'s and exo's are at 3rd TP.

    I play too many games where marines have 1 base, aliens 3....yet it still takes over 10 min for aliens to push in (due to W3 A3) and win.

    These situations are not simply aliens not being co-ordinated but rather marines being too strong when they have lost.

    Aliens get gimped badly as they lose hive, marines dont get gimped at all (exclude JP and exo) making the marines the aliens attack just as tough.
    But the inverse is true for marines.

    Asymmetry is is fine..but not at the expense of enjoyable game play for 2 sides.
