Hey all, I just wanted to let UWE know about something and wondering what you think about the celerity sound effect? personally I think its very annoying especially when im wearing my headphones cause I cant hear anything but some "wind tunnel" sound effect, it takes me out of the experience and makes me not want to get celerity.
im sure most of us KNOW when we have celerity we don't need an annoying sound telling us we have it while we are traveling fast..
what do you think? do you find it annoying? do you agree with me that it should be removed from the game?
EDIT: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJA6FEWwrgM&feature=youtu.be" target="_blank">Video here</a>

I SAID
CELERI....
:D
well im actually happy im not the only one who thinks so, the more people dislike it the better, we just need to let UWE know this so they can remove it then we can play for a match without feeling so deaf
Should be obvious enough for marines to see the speed difference, same as with cara where you feel the armor difference, to figure out that aliens have celerity now.
While i understand that it should also work as a wanted downside, faster speed => more movement noise => easier to hear the lifeform... it barely makes a difference. (except when its ######ed up and continues playing the loop even tho the lifeform stopped moving for a while)
And yeah for the alien itself, what stofix said below me.
what sound? what screen blur? wtf...
I also didn't know you can hear celerity with marines, I mean what would be the point of that? if a marine hears you with celerity so what? it wont make them less surprised your moving fast will it? I get more surprised shooting at a skulk as a marine, I have muscle memory when a skulk should die without carapace so when a skulk has carapace and should be dead I reload at the last shot it usually dies without carapace lol
I don't know if serious or joking?
not trying to say that what you like is useless, but how can you not know your going super fast without the sound?
do you play with headphones? its more pronounced.. and also do you use sound as a weapon as in listening where marines are while traveling or is sound passive to you?
I think the blur effect is only on with certain graphics options, I notice the blur if I look for it but that part does not bother me
I use headphones all the time and have pretty good hearing.

Yes and yes, and I also have never noticed any whoosing sound with celerity.
And the blur is there no matter what, you cannot turn that off with any graphic settings.
edit: yep, just tested it, I have no "whooshing" sound when I have celerity on.
That's really weird that its not even noticeable for some, and completely drowns out everything else for others.
some people like it, some people don't mind it. some people hate it, I hope they atleast have it optional, thank you virsoul for the tip unfortunately its only for fade

Surround sound yes, interesting, I used 2.1 speakers I notice it, and with my Q701 headphones (not surround sound) I do use Xonar dolby headphone virtual 7.1 surround sound with windows surround being 7.1, I even used 5.1 still there.
no matter on the sound card, sound source, or sound settings, I get the effect and its equally annoying on my end
maybe ill post a video on the celerity sound effect before/after one day.

Yes I play with headphones, yes I listen carefully, I've even opened an explore mode and run around with celerity trying to hear it. Maybe it's because I have Music and Sound turned down a fair bit in options? So I could turn voices up, can still hear footsteps just fine though.

Interesting, that does seem/sound very noticeable. I can never recall ever hearing anything like that before. I'll try to test it again when I'm home tonight.
